Title: Discrepancies with Chrono Cross?

There's a ghost in Chronopolis who says:

Does this contradict the current CT:CE storyline? As far as I know, there's no FATE in CE althought the future era is 2,302AD.

FATE could perhaps always be there, but it doesn't have any real part in the CE story.

Does CT:CE take place before or after the events of Chrono Cross?  After Chrono Cross, FATE is most likely not rebuilt.  Only an improved version of Mother Brain would exist.
