I've never emulated DS before, but I'm grabbing the CT ROM. I'm assuming that
- no$gba is the emulator of choice
- I'll need some kind of code or something from gbatemp to play the game
And if anyone has it, a savestate before the Dimensional Distortion would save me some time. Lost Sanctum too...
Sorry to beg, but I just don't have time to do an entire playthrough.
-
Apparently savestates don't even work on these confounded things; DS emulation isn't quite up to speed yet. There must be some way of trading files though.
I intend to do a full playthrough, but I wanted to wait for the English version to record the Dimensional Vortex and the post-final boss. I'm just trying to rip the new Schala sprites from the Japanese version at the moment.
-
I see. Maybe there'll be a code function. Yet another CT playthrough with cheating, heh...

;)
Just hit f2 in no$GBA and add each code Separately.
-
Okay, I've begun playing. I guess I'll go ahead and do a full playthrough, but avoiding spoilers for this long is going to be hell on earth, considering I'm a freaking administrator of the Chrono Compendium...
I'll document all the changes I'll find.
-
Strange, the game isn't working for me. It won't even load the game. o_O
-
I had to go to Emulation Setup > NDS Cartridge Backup Media > EEPROM 64Kbytes
-
Oh, Jesus, the Japanese version can be put in English too, can't it? *facepalms*
The movies all seem to be in .MODSN3 format, and for the life of me I can't find a player.
-
This is so weird. I'm actually playing a Chrono game technically right after it's released with the rest of the world.
Maybe I'm going to cry :lee:

Thanks, that worked. :)

"Nom nom nom" is a retarded meme. I can't believe the localization team fucking put it in Chrono Trigger.

YOU HEAR THAT COMPENDIUM? THEY'RE GOING TO USE PROFESSIONALS TO TRANSLATE!

-
Shinrin, what settings are you using? Your color looks so much more vibrant than mine.

It's the first time I've been aware of a Chrono game during release.
Oh, and the first time I'll have owned a physical copy of a Chrono game when my Japanese DS cartridge arrives in a day or two.
:lee: :lee: :lee:
As for the savestate problem, I'm sure regular saving works on no$gba...?

Regular saving worked when I played Megaman ZX...

VGA (poppy bright)
*falls over*
Almost put poopy bright.. :/

I'm using an emu called Desmume, and it appears to have a savestate feature...albeit I haven't tried it out yet.
The "nom nom nom" line means it may be time for...the Compendium Reretranslation!

while it does have save states, i heard that it runs slow, even for 2d games. :/
-
Yeah, it's not even loading the hard-patched (ahem, fixed) version of the ROM, so back to no$gba for me.
-
Square-enix knows that the rom is out on the internet and is expecting big losses due to it.
-
That's why everyone should BUY IT! INCLUDING EVERYONE WHO DOWNLOADED THE ROM.
-
Desmune works well with CTDS the only time that slows down is on FMV.
I'll have to wait untill next year to buy it. TBA 2009 Europe and after that It's going to be released on Australia. So maybe I'll have to wait quite long time.

Turning off FMVs is an option, thankfully.
And you could just import, right? The DS is region-free.

Link doesn't seem to be working any more...
EDIT: I looked 'em up, though & I think these are the codes (found on GBAtemp.net)...

Uhh... I've been trying the Arris Dome password for some time now... I'm pressing all the buttons, I even set then all to the same keyboard key, but it won't seem to work...
-
Set your L and R to Ctrl and Alt, then try it. That's the only way it worked for me.
-
I used the Touch screen instead of A, and it worked. HEAR THAT, PEOPLE?!
I'll be sure to tell this to others.
-
my presets were fine...though I have two places for L...left shift & the L key actually, ha! I don't usually use the L key though ironically enough...my R is the ;/: key in case you wondered...A is the J key...if you can figure out all the rest, I'll rep you (uh...it'll have to be at some other Forums though, HA-HA!)...>_>
