Title: Odd Error
Post by: Zephira on December 20, 2009, 07:20:05 pm: This only started a couple minutes ago, but whenever I go to any page of the forum, this error text shows up on the background of the page. Normally when I get an error like that, the rest of the page doesn't show up at all, but the whole forum is still accessible. It doesn't show up in the main site either, only the forum.

Also, after posting a new topic, came up with these errors:

Clicking the attachment name has a page of errors, too. Photobucketed the screenshot of the first error instead.

Just select all and paste the text in a notepad, you get those messages.

Post by: Ramsus on December 21, 2009, 03:17:16 am: We use memcached for performance reasons. When it fails, the site's functionality continues as normal, except performance will decrease dramatically whenever there's a lot of simultaneous users.

The error is because memcached randomly died when it should have been running. I restarted it, so everything should be good now. This has only happened a few times in the last year, but still, I'll probably set up a cron job to make sure it's running on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if this applies, though, but yesterday, I was trying to post, and whenever I would, I would keep getting session errors...thought that might just have been my internet acting goofy.

I'm not doing anything differently from my usual modus operandi. I've tried logging out and logging back in, to no avail. Help!
