General Discussion / Re: Most Exciting, Tense, Action-Packed, Freaky or Gritty Game Ever
« on: July 30, 2006, 09:26:40 pm »
I love RE4 so much. It's the perfect blend action and horror. It really is just about flawless speaking in the sense of modern gaming. I mean really, no way it's as flawless as CT, but that's a completely different game and time. However, creepiest game would have to be Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, or RE1.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Ayla
« on: July 30, 2006, 09:08:06 pm »
I was playing through CT again recently and payed more attention to Ayla this time. I never really noticed how interesting of a character she was until now. Sure, she's an amazing ally in combat but her personality is intriguing, too. Sure, she's not the most intelligent being ever, but c'mon she's from the stone age. What's interesting is her grasp on life. Her dialogue is often rather insightful, like the converstaion with the elder of Laruba. Her relationship with Kino also provides some inspiring dialogue.

General Discussion / All people who know about guitars, I have a question.
« on: July 29, 2006, 08:55:50 pm »
Does anyone who plays guitar here know where to find a pickup cover for a Fender humbucker? i've searched all over the net and I'm convinced that they just don't exist.

General Discussion / Re: A question for all you Anime fans
« on: July 28, 2006, 02:38:38 pm »Shinji masturbating over a half-naked comatose Asuka? I'm there.Surprisingly, this is actually one of those few animes where you can't say a mentally disturbed teenager masturbating over a half-naked comatose hot chick is the strangest part of the series. I love this anime so much. Everything is amazing. It really is one of the only animes filled with mind fucks galore that really does make you question your own humanity and the existence of everything else. I can't say enough good things about this anime. People ask me why I love anime so much and this show is one of those reasons. There's hardly a single American show and/or movie that puts any mindfucks in them at all and makes you think as much as a lot of anime does. I wish people would see this and understand.

General Discussion / Re: The Chrono Voice actors wish list.

That guy that did DiZ from KH2 was also the actor for Sarumon in the LOTR movies. Forget his name, though. I think Akira Ishida would be perfect for Magus. He's the one that did the japanese voices for Gaara in Naruto and Zelos in Slayers. He's also done way more voices, but he usually does the cold-hearted badass voices.

Reality, Real-World Connections, and the Supernatural / Re: Masamune & Murasame-Swords of Squeenix

I've read the book of the five rings and it's amazing. On the subject of the battlefield I highly reccomend Sun Tzu's (hope I spelled it right) Art of War. Both are absolutely amazing.

I think a history of violence and foreign violence are the largest issues. Media isn't too much of an issue depending on the intelligence of the person viewing/hearing the media. As long they can seperate reality from fiction, media has nothing to do with it. The availibity of the guns isn't an issue either. I agree with Radical_Dreamer in that the guns were simply the tools chosen by the kids and that there would've been something else used to kill people had they not had access to guns.

General Discussion / Re: Finally! PORTABLE Chrono Trigger!

I agree that there's nothing like using the old school system. The emulation on the PSP is definately far from perfect. Out of curiosity, how much did that cost to make and how much would it cost to make the PS1 portable?

I have that same problem right now. It hurts cuz you know they're not happy with you but at the same time you feel like you need to help them even if it doesn't make them favor you more. Almost like everything you do is futile.

General Discussion / Re: Favorite Bands
« on: July 16, 2006, 12:25:47 am »
I think Larc en Ciel is an amazing band to watch on stage. They have a lot of energy and their songs are awesome, too. Another really good J-Rock band is Dir en Grey. They're amazing performers and a lot of the songs range from straight up rock to metal and sometimes even pop-esque styles. They're lyrics are really dark (at least from all translations I've read). They're stage presence is probably one of the funnest things to watch ever. They're absolutely insane. I just remembered I'm going to see them in the beginning of September They're on tour with Korn and other bands I couldn't care less about. The only reason I'm going is Dir en Grey, actually.

Not a big fan of Green Day myself, although some of their stuff is very good. Bowling For Soup is really good. The All American Rejects are awesome, too.
