Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Ayla

Yes, naming a big meteor "Big Fire" really isn't that special. Ayla's wisdom exists, but it's much better shown in other dialogues, like in the "Win and live, lose and die" one.
I really feel that quote is just to "rive up" either the player or the Laruba tribe.  Although she says similar stuff when going to defeat Lavos (and that's all she really ever says there).

Although where Ayla's wisdom REALLY shines is when she talks of the Reptites.  I could hint in Ayla that she believed that fate (no not Fate, the destiny Fate.  You know, the Fate that's not supposed to be in uppercase) chose the Reptites to to be the dominant species (as evidenced in Chrono Cross), and that was where she got her attitude from. -CSM

It actually makes more sense theoretically than the Beach Bum-Nu corellation.  I've made up some weird theories before that were laughed at and not really thought about.  I'm sure that a casual Chrono community would shrug this off just because there's a CC enemy resembling a Nu and not look to the fact that Starky's an extraterrestrial.

Then again, you could probably say something similar about another extraterrestrial who we all know and love (hate?), Lavos itself. -CSM

I just want to thank Zeality for really pulling this off.  The whole "get it to FA" thing was actually my idea.  I decided to take a few days off editing Final Fantasy articles so I can help with Chrono Cross's bid. -CSM

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: inner lavos

Still, I bet Nomura's team took a few designs from the Dream Team.  I mean, Cloud wasn't the first Square character with spikey hair either.

Also, I don't believe the Lavos Core wasn't formed through the energy.  It probably gained its power through such energy.  I mean, the Lavos Core looks to me like an alien pilot, and Lavos itself is actually a spaceship. -CSM

Here's my thoughts on the Fall of Guardia.

If Guardia fell, then the royal line would be broken.  However, remember that Doan is a decendent of the Guardia line.   So obviously someone survived, and it's clear that neither Crono nor Marle survived, as we see their ghosts in Chrono Cross. -CSM

Ayla is definitely the most underappreciated CT character.  Sure she may exist for comic relief, however, remember that it was HER that named Lavos.  I'd go into gameplay here, but I went over that in the other forum.  As a character, though, she can be strong. -CSM

I never really use Robo.  Yeah, his Techs are powerful, but they're costly.  And Robo is really slow unless you give him Speed Tabs. -CSM

Dude,  that wasn't a ROM download site because no such ROM exists and no such game exists outside my mind and some other people's minds. -CSM

I can't believe I didn't post in this yet.  As far as video game songs go, World Revolution and To Far Away Times are my two favorite songs.  The Magus Battle theme is up there as well. -CSM

For some reason I always thought of El Nido as a place where once you enter, you can't leave.  There is no evidence of anybody leaving El Nido, but we know that the Porre army comes in. -CSM

Well, someone went so far as to Post a ROM download page, but yeah, it was a joke.  I still want to see it happen.  If I ever get around to it, I'll tell the story through a webcomic (I need photoshop because I actually want to make it serious).  Read the topic I posted to in the link above for an overview of what Chrono Alcoholism is.  And yes, it IS in CA where we learn who Crono's father is (read the topic).  Us CA fans act like it's real all the time, but we do that because it's funny to do it, heh. -CSM

Moderator Edit: Posting links to ROM downloading sites is forbidden.

CSM Edit: It's not real.  I wouldn't have posted it if it were.

It's an inside joke that I plan to make a webcomic out of one day.
This is where it started.

The story behind CA is that while Chrono Trigger was released at the tail end of the SNES's life, Chrono Alcoholism was released five years after it was dead.  Only six copies were made, and they were accidently shipped to a clothing store in Utah.  It is noncanonical, and included Chrono Cross characters, but it assumes the CC story never happened.  (Although several of the characters play Chrono Cross at one point in the game).

The main character is named Alco Hall, and he and his best friend Alma Norman try to find the secret town of Booyaville, repeal a strict prohibition that was instilled upon Zenan, and rescue Crono from the authorities.  The story takes place, of course, in the Chrono Trigger universe, and time travel is possible.  There are exactly 356,787 playable characters, and many cameos from other games and universes as well.

This is the box art of the game:

I have tried to do this in the past, but I'll try again.  What I want to do is make a "Chrono Cross tree" of sorts to try and fit as many characters into the main story as possible.

The starting point is obviously Kid, since she is what links Chrono Cross with Chrono Trigger.   Then it would move to Lynx and Harle, and then to Serge.  From Lynx, there would be branches to Norris and the Porre army and another to the Acacia Dragoons: Viper, Glenn, Riddel, Radius, Karsh, Zoah, and Marcy.  From Marcy it branches to Nikki, Irenes, and Fargo.  There is also a branch somewhere to everyone who lives in Guldove.  Serge has a branch to Leena.  Karsh and Glenn have a branch to Zappa.

Now, the characters who obviously have no place include but are not limited to: Poshul, Mojo, Luccia, Pip, Turnip, Neofio, Greco, Razzly, Skelly, Draggy, Pierre, Van, Funguy, and Sneff. -CSM

Actually, I prefer Ayla's Lower Level fists to the Bronze Fist.  The Lower Level fists have a higher Critical Hit rate, even if for less damage, the damage is better in the long run.  I tend to use Magus at higher levels since that is where he shines brightest. -CSM
