Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: The name Lavos?
« on: October 21, 2007, 03:48:30 pm »
(I was going to make a new topic, but since this is up)
The words in Lavos' name; do they have some kinda of real world origin to them? Like is there a something like "Fire-Small" or "Water-Big"?

And on the topic, within the game, it's most likely that Ayla told everyone. Or that the term for "big fire" was/is common in those early times; and eveyone that saw the crash thought the same thing. In both cases, the events became legendary since without it, humans wouldn't exist in the same manner as on Zeal.

Kajar Laboratories / To be direct or loose?
« on: August 15, 2007, 12:20:12 am »
I've been working on my own Chrono story (on and off) for a few years. I would hope to one day have it on a game, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.   :(  Anyway, the point of this it to ask the fans of the Chrono series, would most rather read a story that's more directly connected to the events of series or something more loosely connected?

I mean like: Cross and RD didn't come off as having much to do with the adventures of Crono, Marle and Lucca, at first. But the Chrono Crisis project just screams "Chrono Trigger 2".

I'm still going to continue my story either way. But this felt like a question that I needed an anwser to.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Kino and Azala
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:10:12 am »
Call me stupid, but this was bugging for while. I keep hearing that Kino wasn't born in 65 mil, but was found. Where in the game was that stated? And are there anymore details to it?

And about Azala. Is it true that he was really a she? And was it explain about it's psychic powers? I know it's strongly about advance evolvotion; but it's just seems a bit werid that most reptites at that point were barely higher than the earily humans.

Chronopolis was locked off from all outside contact precisely to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Porre did not rise to power due to technology found in El Nido...the potential for disrupting the timeline and preventing FATE's existence means FATE would never allow it. They must have risen to power in some timeline before Chronopolis was first built so their rise to power is history as FATE saw it.

No offense, but FATE did and/or allowed a lot of them that risked it's exists. Not saying it did allow Porre to walk in and raid the place. But having people from a distant future and a race from a another dimension live so close to the outside world wasn't smart. Event if it erased their memories and partical controlled them with the Records of Fate; it's still was too big a risk. The records of fate, dragoians ruins, and the demi-human's elements were very advance, and too dangerous to leave laying around if you're not trying to change history. And don't forget the second moon. One way or another FATE's mistake most likely changed Porre.

Radius found the Masamune on Zenan Mainland, not Divine Dragon Falls. This is confirmed in the Ultimania Guide and heavily implied by the game (Viper was promoted to the rank of General on Zenan Mainland, and he and Radius, Garai and Zappa "tore up the battlefield" in 1,005 A.D.).

I don't know. Inside the cave at Divine Dragon Falls, it looked all tiwsted & evil. The evil of the Masamune probably altered the area, in similar fashion to  Ilse of the Damn and the gates to the Dead Sea. It may not have been there long, but Radius had to find it there.

2) Not so sure that she'd come on her own. The sword did a lot after the events of Chrono Trigger, and she never seemed to notice. Defeating Dario seems to have triggered it.

That's why I think Doreen just suddenly shown up and sounded piss at them. She must of knew about all the evil they done but just haven't found Masa & Mune until Dario used it. Cross has shown that the Chrono world is much bigger than what was seen in Trigger. She must have been searching the mainland for years, and started looking in El Nido around the point of Cross' events.

The Masamune was stolen from Guardia after Lynx provided Porre with new technology. All the killing and and massacre it was used for seemed to have turned it evil.

Wrong. Lynx didn't even exist in 1,005 A.D. yet. Porre were influenced by an help "from outside of the normal flow of time", but it wasn't Lynx.

Porre/Zenan started to migrate to El Nido in around 900 A.D., right? Either they found Chronopolis or just bit & piece of their technology in the area, and that started their militry uprise. Someone else, probably no one important, just found the Masamune around the same time (or at least after Frog's death) and used it in the attack on Guardia.

Do I feel stupid...er.

Anyway, I think, as far as dealing with the Ideal timeline and the possible events that could of happened even if Serge's adventure didn't take place; the Masamune's period of evil would end in 1020 A.D. Doreen appears out of nowhere during the fight and seemed to know about everything that happened. If it wasn't for her knocking their heads together in spirit form, Masa & Mune would have remained asleep, and the blade fulled with dark energy. All that Serge did was help catch her attention sooner, and prove to be a good weilder of the weapon.

I keep forgetting. It's "Doreen". 2 'e's

(Would've. It's a fjorking contraction! Seeing would of drives me nuts!)
:?: I don't catch that.

3. ...it was the pendent.
Ok. I thought it was something more, with the cut-scene in the PS version.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Dorren, the Masamune and Crono's death
« on: April 23, 2007, 07:55:52 pm »
I a have few things ask. More like a theory and a nogging question.

1)Dorren is Masa and Mune's older sister, so she should similar ability to change she form of people or objects. Has it been stated that she was ever an item before join to form the Mastermune?

2)I believe that Masamune would of been puifed, even without the events of Serge fighting Dario. The Masa and Mune were awaken by Dorren, who apparently been searching for them for a while. With them up, they released the evil-energy on their own. But I can't remember much of the later, lesser parts of Cross. Can someone remind me about what happen to the Masamune after Lynx took it?

3) This isn't related to the others, but it's be bugging me for a while. In Crono was "killed" by Lavos in Ocean Palace, what was point of that spark-thing floating out of him? Was is his soul? The clone others used to save him? A random refence to a old folktale? It just seemed pointless.

Kajar Laboratories / A Chraracter name

I looking for a good name for a character. Does anyone know any good words that have similar means to "potential" and/or "possibility"?

12
So nothing at all, huh? Thanks anyway.

Are there enough details around the origins of the Guardia kingdom, or of a religion behind the cathedral? I know their weren't major plot-point in the series. But if there is anything on them, no matter how tiny or insignificant, could you please tell me?

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Re: Leah and Ayla relationship
« on: November 09, 2006, 12:40:53 am »
I just has a interresting thought, in regards to Gaea's navel's appearing. It maybe possible that the navel is similar to Giant's Claw. For unknown reasons, a big enough geological shift pushed up the opening to where prehistory creatures survived and only slightly evolved. What if Gaea's navel had another colloection of prehistories that survived underground. When FATE made the surrounding walls to El Nido, it unearth that area. And to insure any very little inaction with the people, reform it to it circlar shape.

Whether Leah is related to THE Ayla of keystone timeline is unknown and, I think, unlikely. But most sighs point to her being transported but a gate from 65000000 B.C. and/or from the Reptite dimension(that's if it's anything like the CT ending where human still exist).

Yeah, I'll have to change some things. At least "Belthasar was responsible" helps.

I can live with that. The old guy seemingly planned out everything but which pair of underwear Serge were.
