Dark Eternal for the sole reason that it is one of Magus's only combo techs with other characters!

General Discussion / Re: Final Fantasy 12

Honestly, I can't play Final Fantasy 12 for extended periods of time like I can other RPGs... Just... the fact that you can program what the characters do in battle and litterally put the controller down makes it feel like a movie even more then Final Fantasy 10 did. I really really liked the old battle system, and I'm sad they are straying away from it... of course, this is also coming from a "Tales of" fan, and the Tales of RPGs officially have the best RPG battle system EVER.

One thing I did like about it was there really wasn't a main character. Sure, a few characters were more important then the others, but one did not stand out. I saw absolutely no point to Van or Penelo other then the fact that they were just kinda tagging along. As for Fran, Asche, Basch, and Baltheir, they all seemed to have proper reason for traveling around like that.

I also found it really funny that Square pulled the "evil twin" card on us. I really honestly had a moment where I thought that they were finally going downhill, but honestly, I liked the way they did it! This one of the ony times I've seen that plotpoint done right! Now if only the english voice actors were as good as the japanese ones.... oh well ^_^

Polling / Re: Favourite Battle Theme

I'm quite set on Battle with Magus, not only because it was a great background theme, but also I may be a bit biased because I'm a Magus fan ^_^... Even so, I absolutely adore the song and the many remixes of it out there.

Well, someone's feeling a little self-important...

I kid, I kid. Welcome to the Chrono Compendium, oh verbose one. Enjoy your stay.
*sigh* Oh good. Ehehe... I was a little worried that you really ment that. I was going to start apologising ^^. I just think that it's always good to start on a forum with a descriptive post so that people can see who you really are before you really start going around the foum... or at least that's the way I go about it. I really didn't mean anything rude by it.

Greetings to everyone here at Chrono Compendium.

I am usually known as Rachiru Akari to my fellow fans. In reality, I am an 18 year old almost Sophmore in college who is majoring in childhood development with the intent to become an elementary school teacher. I've been a fan of role playing games since even before I truely saw maturity in my anime fandom, which is really saying something.

I believe the first time I played Chrono Trigger was when I was in seventh grade... Either that, or it's my bad memory kicking in and I didn't truely play it seriously untill my freshman year of high school. I remember that I was immedietly hooked to the game, as it was one of the first Square games I ever played, if not the first outright. I also was immedietly attached to a certain character, who ended up being overshadowed by another... At first, I really connected with Frog (Glenn/Kaeru), but after playing up to the fall of Zeal, Magus (Maoh) quickly became higher then him on my long favorite characters list. Yes, I originally hated him and thought he was evil after Frog's descriptions of him, but after seeing how dedicated he was to his sister, I started to like him more and more. I found it very funny, because I had already guessed that the Prophet was Magus before he took off the cloak, and I wondered if the creators thought it really was going to fool anyone. Anyway, I have played Chrono Trigger through many times, but the last time I foolishly deleted my file, so I'm still working toward the Dream Team ending. It'll feel nice when I finally get it!

Getting off of my little rant, I will apologise, because I have not had access to Chrono Cross yet. Someday I'll find a copy and play it, but I have simply not found the time to go out searching for it... That, and I didn't have a way to play it before my boyfriend gave me a PS1 memorycard last year ^_^.

Anyway! *polite bow* It is a pleasure to finally be here among fellow Chrono fans! I am looking forward to talking to you all in the forums!

Signed,
Rachiru Akari

P.S. For those who understood my thread title...... Why yes! I am a Lord of the Rings fan! *chuckle
