Hey Guys,

I decided to look into the problem for you guys and it looks like Map C1 (Hall to throne room) has been corrupted in that patch...It was like....literally gone?

So it's definitely not an emulator problem   I went ahead and I imported the original map and it fixed it however I've never seen a map totally blank out like that I'm worried that something new in CT+ has written over the data and thus my import overwrote whatever overwrote map C1 haha.

That being said I tested out that one particular location and it is working now, all the code was fine it was just the map that was gone.

I attached a patch that you have to apply to a fresh nonheadered CT Rom (it's  not just a patch to fix that one map it has to be applied to a fresh rom)

Just tried the new patch and it works.  The corridor leading to the Mammon Machine works too, but there are two NPCs stuck in the wall, which is no big deal.  I'm just glad I can continue playing this great hack.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this for us.  I think I can speak for us all when I say we really appreciate it.

Good to know that I'm not the only one.

I did in fact patch over a patched rom, but that was not the source of my problem.  The same black screen happened again with a clean rom.  I guess I'll just try another one.

To those who have gotten this to work, which emulator should I use?  I've tried zsnes 1.50, snes9x 1.51, and 1.43.

Sorry to be such a bother about this.

While playing the beta, I hit a stopping point in the kingdom of Zeal.  When I try to go into the hallways of either the mammon machine or the throne room, I get a black screen and can go no further.
What Emulator and version are you using? Is the rom(original) you are using clean?(good Checksum)

Just so you know, my intellectual pride lies battered on the floor as I type this.

I just patched a clean rom and started a new game, I'm already noticing some differences, namely that Crono started with equipment, unlike the other rom.  I must have patched my original rom with another hack and forgot about it, then patched the beta on top of it.  I haven't made it to zeal yet, but that was probably the issue.

I should have thought of that from the beginning.  It just didn't occur to me because it played well until that point.  My apologies for the dumb post, and for this post apologizing for it.  That's what I get for ignoring Occam's Razor.

Anyway, thank you for the quick response.

Once again, excellent hack.

I'm wondering if the room where Janus goes through the door behind the bookshelf is where I'm missing something, because there is a wind book like the ones in Kajar and Enhasa, but no fire or water books that I can find.

The only way I could move past this point was cheating to go through the bookshelf, which took me to Leene square then to the elevator of the undersea palace with Magus as the leader of my party.  The game plays just fine after this, aside from having Magus a bit early.

Also, I seem to remember being able to leave the tunnel leading to the lavos core in the original.  In the beta, whether I go through the black omen, the bucket, or the day of lavos, I cannot turn back after beating Lavos' first form.  This kept me from going through the black omen 3 times to score prism dresses, bummer.

I'm just wondering what I did wrong to get stuck at this point, since I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem.  I don't think it's a patching issue, because I was able to play the game normally up to this point and didn't use cheats until I got stuck there.

Aside from the zeal problem, the demo is great.  I love the changes and the extra scenes.  I'm going to go through a new game+ just to go through the story again.  Great job.
