eheh...lets say my parents were out and it was only me and my older brother home, and when i got to the spekio part, my lil 5th grade swears flew... :x

another part i had a hard time was at the Lucca mother flashback. i did it 500 times, always messing up with the stuid up down left crap code. So my older brother finally took pity on me and did it for me...he was always better at that kind of stuff...

Another change i'd like to see would be no more dumb*** weapons. I mean, c'mon, look at Nikki: sound waves off a guitar? no no no. and korcha-a fishing pole. wtf?? although these do go w/ the characters background, how the hell do they use these?? I'm sure they come in so handy when you're fighting man eating plants or whatever...(sarcasm) OH, and Zeff. He uses a pack of cards. ?????????? Give us some actual weapons, please!

hmm...perhaps it was like what thought said before, the Harle psuedo-guise, with Kid's accent. It could be just a cover up that she is Shala. Shala is percieved as being quiet and more feminine, whereas Kid is the opposite. Nobody would really guess she is Shala (just looking at the 2 personalities).

Then again, she could have just picked it up somewhere as she was traveling before she met Serge. After the orphanage was burnt down, we don't have a clear idea of where she went to live or anything. Perhaps she went somewhere with Australian accents.

P.S. I was pretty much joking in my earlier post when i made the Harle/Pierre related statement, just to clear things up.

Pierre speaks a little French, I believe. ZOMG -- Pierre/Harle connection!? I shall have to ponder this...

As for whether we should take the accents as "canon," I suppose we could take into consideration whether the accents were present in the Japanese script penned directly by Kato.

Ooo, maybe Pierre and Harle came from same place-what if they're RELATED?? They do seem similar...i mean, accents and clothing...

But it is possible it wasnt in the original version, after all too...hmm...

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Harle-origin and accent

We all know Harlequin with her lovable French accent. But wait a second-where does she get this accent? I've also noted that at some points she'll use French phrases. But why is she the only character in CC and CT to ever speak in a different language? On her profile, her origin is "unknown". So just where is this unknown french place?

That leads to another question: has there always been 1 dominant language in the CC and CT worlds? When you travel throught time in CT, all throughout history theres the same language in the same places.(well, obviously the game is made like that for the player. but usually there are different languages in a world...)

Why did they randomly include this accent? Maybe it has something to do with Harle being a Dragon God. Maybe they want to show her different from all the rest of the characters to hint that she is this special Dragon God being.

Well, any ideas?

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: Lavos Question

Well the game implies that when Lavos arose in 1999 AD it was by choice; he came to the surface to spawn and send the buggers off into space. Logically, he couldn't send them off into space very well if they were covered by several miles of the earth's crust. I suspect he tried to kill off humanity and all life at that point just so that his spawn would have a safe playpen, as it were.

As for the first time, I maintain that he is really just grumpy when he wakes up.

I think you're right. My theory is that Lavos is indeed female, and is a "mother" of the spawns. Every mother has that maternal instinct to want her children to be safe. Lavos is like an animal, killing humans or other animals to protect it's young. So that would make Lavos destroying earth as part of its nature. There are probably hundreds of other Lavoses(good god, imagine that!) feeding off planets in the solar system. It's just there nature, they aren't doing it just to kill.

Welcome to the Compendium, chronos_cat. Yes, it would make sense for Schala to be reflecting on something. At this point I'm caught between exactly what you've stated and the possibility of Schala reflecting on her life in Zeal.

just wanted to say thank you for welcoming. :D ty!!

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: Nature of the Dragon Gods
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:38:56 pm »
The way I thought of it, the Dragons (Harle included for the sake of argument) are each a splinter of the complete Dragon God/Lunar Dragon.  They're independently-minded, but they all stem from a single being with a single mind and will, and, for the most part, all have the same fundamental desire for reunification.  Each Dragon is its own person/dragon, but at the same time longs to return to the single entity it was once a part of.

Well, that's my take on it, anyway.

i agree. the dragons personalities seem to take off their nature element. for example, the blue dragon is peaceful and quiet, such as water is portrayed. the green dragon can be "wild" (eating serge and company) as a jungle. the red dragon wants to fight, and has a "fiery" personality. the black dragon isn't what id call "evil", hes just..."dark"ish. the "white" (sky) dragon is compassionate (saving serge and company from Dead Sea collapsing) and "light" or "holy". the earth dragon is....um....down to earth. :?? and harle is....uh...harle :) but she has the whole "im in love with serge!" attitude, so it is possible she might be "heart" or "love".

thats my theory. what do u guys think?

It's interesting that things like these connections come up. It is very obvious that Ayla and Leah have to have a connection, or else the designers merely made their appearances and backgrounds so similar just to mess with out heads.

I don't think it's possible for Leah and Ayla to have a connection. Ayla lived in 65,000,000 b.c., right? at the end of C.T. you see her still in that time period, so she never traveled to C.C.'s period (i believe it was around 1000 a.d ish, right?) so she couldn't be the mother or grandmother of Leah, who live with her tribe obviously is some isolated area such as Gaeaa's Navel, then moved to G.N. w/father.unless Ayla is a very VERY distant ancestor of Leah, then i don't think they're related. Leah is probably just a recurring character, to keep us C.T fans happy with having another person identical to the C.T. cast. :)

"what does this text means to the game?"

hmm...lets take it apart line by line:

What was the start of all this?
When did the cogs of fate begin to turn?

possibly this is someone (shala) reminiscing, wondering when the whole crono series began. wondering why this all happened like it did. think, if Lavos had gone to some other planet, then nothing would have happened. so why did fate have all this happen?

Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now,
from deep within the flow of time.

shala, possibly pondering on how complicated this whole series has been, how long this has been going, and how it is indeed "impossible to grasp". Lavos came to earth in 65,000,000 b.c., correct? and it ends...well, depends on what dimension you're in. so this has been going on for millions of years...

But for a certianty, back then
we loved so many yet hated so much
we hurt others and were hurt ourselves.

hmm, possibly talking about a time of despair when humanity indeed was "hurting others and were hurt ourselves" and "hated so much".

Yet even then we ran like the wind
whilst our laughter echoed
under cerulean skies....

i believe this is talking about how humanity was still able to act free, "ran like the wind", and happy "whilst our laughter" through our times of hate and despair.

so possibly this is going through the whole history of the Lavos Chronicles(nice name, eh? lol) and Shala is reminiscing.

just my theory, what do u guys think?
