Polling / Re: Who do you think should be the 8th character?
« on: July 13, 2008, 05:18:27 pm »
I voted for Glenn but meh I'd rather see something more shocking:
Dalton (Golem Boss portal spits him out somewhere near the Commons)
Queen Zeal (not sure how that would work but I liked her spells though Hallation is overpowered)
Ozzie (joins after being defeated at his fort instead of just falling into a pit)
Johnny (lots of techs involving running people over so not really that great)
Azala (chooses to fly back with Crono and Co.)
Sir Krawlie (joins after you defeat him. im joking of course ^^)

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Things we want in this new Chrono Trigger
« on: July 09, 2008, 01:31:44 pm »
For CT:DS... I want...(sorry I like listing)
1. New weapons/armor
2. The new dungeon to be HUGE
3. At least one superboss in the new dungeon
4. A harder version of Lavos (or a Lv ** version)
5. I guess it would be kinda cool to have a sidequest where you use epoch and it malfunctions and sends you
to a different time (like 125,000BC or something) and wherever you "crash" is the new dungeon
6. a new ending
7. some new reference to the Fall of Guardia
8. 1 or 2 new Triple Techs

Oh yea... well then changes point 4 a bit
4. Lavos waits until he feels threatened, his slumber is disturbed, or his absorption is complete to truly attack the world/ Jenova attacks the Cetra immediately - mimicking them to get closer in order to slaughter them.
and adds another difference:
5. Lavos can be summoned to a location/ however Jenova is the one who "summons" (attracting her cells back to the main body
EDIT: typo

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Think there will be a new chrono game?
« on: July 07, 2008, 08:03:21 pm »
Honestly? Nope. Though I have a few things in mind...
1. They can't make a new game (for whatever reason), so they give us a DS port to appease us. or...
2. They know a strong fanbase exists, so they are milking it. (likely) or...
3. The DS port will be used more or less as a way to measure interest, as in a predictor of how well a new Chrono title might sell. (unlikely)
what a shame

Well, I'm sure Square's past games greatly inspired later ones; here is a mini list of what I can think of right now:
Similarities:
1. Both violently crash into planets
2. Both can manipulate planet's inhabitants
3. Both have multiple forms
4. Both have the ability to mimic (Lavos first form/ Jenova morphing into Sephiroth and mimicing Cetra)
Differences:
1. Lavos produces offspring/ Jenova does not (unnatural things from experiments such as the Sephiroth clones don't count)
2. Lavos destroys a world after harvesting, leaving his children to conquer other worlds/ Jenova herself moves from world to world, using the previous planet as a vessel.
3. All said and done, the will of Lavos is absolute - he can never be truly manipulated because he always maintains the upper hand/ Sephiroth's will eventually takes over Jenova's and she works to promote his cause.
4. Lavos waits until he feels threatened or his absorption is complete to truly attack the world/ Jenova attacks the Cetra immediately - mimicking them to get closer in order to slaughter them.
