Metal Gear Solid 4 was nothing but fan service.
That's why all the little fan boys loved it.
Kojima didn't make it to close the series.
Closing the series was never his goal.
He made this game because he knew it'd make him a lot of fanboy money.
And it did.

It doesn't contradict anything. I specifically quoted from this site that it said this site's translation is "a clearer portrayal of Chrono Trigger as intended by its Japanese creators". I did /not/ say anything about "literal".
And yeah. Perfectly good English was changed to robotic English. I don't want to play any translations. I'm merely pointing out that this is kind of disappointing for people who find this site and think they found something new about this game they love only to find out that its nothing but clunky, emotionless, robotic, English. Not as intended by the creators.

Its just. The site says its just translating to give "a clearer portrayal of Chrono Trigger as intended by its Japanese creators" because the original translator missed some things. But then in the translation (the one given on this link http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Retranslation.html), there are sentences that made perfect sense in English, that followed the Japanese script just fine, but were changed into a clunky awkward sentence.
I'm sure the Japanese didn't mean for everyone to sound like robots. =/

Here are so ridiculous parts of the plot
Mutated foxdie which was fixed by another foxdie which will mutate and kill everyone in a matter of years in one man.
Raiden and vamp can live for ever because of nano machines =/
Men die when they aren't controlled by nanos because of their own emotions.
Naomi is not anything like mgs1 naomi.
Raiden, who was supposed to live out his life happily, turned into an emo ninja
The bosses were women who were really good at war because they had bad childhoods and the same phenomenon of them going crazy all happened the same way to all of them
Psycho mantis came back
Ocelot made liquid take him over on purpose
the la li lu le lo was defeated by a girl who they locked up but they taught her how to be a super computer hacker meanwhile
big boss is still alive and perfectly healthy even though snake killed him with fire
Eva was distraught over the death of big boss who was actually solidus, so why should she have cared
Johnny and Meryl . . .
Rose married Campbell, but, oh, wait, it was just a fake because if the patriots thought raiden and rose were together they would have for some reason killed rose or something. =/
Big Bosses "zero but not one" speech
Turns out big bosses whole group of supporters from a mission a long time ago turned out to be the original patriots.
^ All of these, among others not listed, were serious let downs.
Tact, I didn't mind snake being old. That was one of the plot points that i thought was interesting. I'm sorry your imagination won't stretch beyond your mindless fandom. I don't think the plot was very well written at all. It's not the classic Kojima mindfuck. It's something that he turned out even though he didn't really feel like it because fanboys like you kept begging. =/

Okay you guys. I don't know how often you get this, and I hope I'm not being a huge douche by bringing it up but . . .
I went to this site the other day and I was all stoked about this "re-translation". I was like "what, it was translated wrong? Wow." As I read on the site did well to bash the game's script and uphold this new translation as the big cheese.
But to be honest, after I compared all three . . .
The re translation is really weird. People say things that are completely un natural. It's like whoever re translated it tried their hardest to translate it /directly/, changing a lot of things that really should not have been changed at all.
So I was just wondering . . . does everyone really glorify this re translation?

Wow. Everyone really /did/ love this game.
Being a pretty hard core Metal Gear Solid fan I found this kind of funny. I was the only one who thought it was total utter crap. The whole plot was extremely corny. I could name off /so/ many things that I thought was ridiculous in this game.
So why does everyone like it so much?
