The DS version. It's not hindered by censorship and even has the sense to keep some fan favorites. Overall, it's simply better written.

I don't really recall much dialogue in the Dimensional Vortex dungeons. In each era, the three characters (Crono, Lucca or Marle) will say they feel the need to go on (and if they're not in your party, they will appear) and that's it. The Dalton fight is the only part with actual lines, but that can be seen in its entirety on YouTube by now.

I like to think I got better as I finished these other two.

Alright, I made some crude maps of the Dimensional Vortex dungeons. Just some information before diving into them, those of you who are finding yourselves lost or confused:

-At the beginning of each you are forced to backtrack through 4-6 random dungeons from earlier in the game. I left these out for obvious reasons
-This has complete treasure data, so you should see where that elusive piece of equipment is
-No spoilers, other than treasure data
-The 2300 A.D. one has more puzzles than the rest, including a teleporter room, that I wasn't able to get full information on just yet
-There are a few maps I've left out that have no treasure or other merit to them (ie, I'm lazy)
-Each dungeon has two save point areas - one just after the randomized maps, and one after the new dungeon and just before the new bosses.
-Using the teleporters that take you to the world map in any area will force you to start the dungeon over again (I could be wrong here).

I don't have it in me to do the other two tonight. Maybe tomorrow or later in the week if no one else gets them done.

*looks at the maps*

Well done. This will help a bit. As a tip, try letter-coding breaks in the map that lead to a separate section.

You mean letters instead of the lines? Like I said, I didn't really want to do the maps that way and got bored doing them.

I was wondering if anyone had interest in ripping the game maps for general purposes. I tried a basic copy/paste attempt to complete the map, but it's taking far too much time that I'd like to spend.

I guess my main question, is ripping the full map from the game even possible?

The one Lost Sanctum thing I wanted to know wasn't on that FAQ, dammit! What exactly gets that damnedable Wonder Rock to show up in the forest so I can get the Lumacite Shard...I've fought it 3 times the first time I didn't even know it was anything special and it ran after a bit...the second time it ran right off the bat before I did anything and the 3rd time I hadn't checked its HP and wasn't sure how all-out I needed to go on it...V_V

As far as I can tell it's completely random. I've found it in the Millenia Wood (600 A.D.) once and the Dimensional Vortex in Antiquity once. I've heard a lot of people have had luck in the Mount Emerald maps - just trek up and down them until it shows up, I guess.

I'm the author of the sticky topic on the boards, so I'll put the Compendium in the next version of it (should be along not too long from now).

Saurian Leathers have a higher Defense rating than Moonbeam Armor, and they increase Strength and Speed +3 - though by the time you get the armor, Crono's Speed and Strength should be **. You get it in the Lost Sanctum.

The only thing for Ayla I found was the Valor Crest. It's one of the last rewards in the Lost Sanctum and is an accessory that boosts critical hit rate and adds a 50% counter rate.

Magus has two scythes, one in the Lost Sanctum, one in the Dimensional Vortex that has 4x critical hit damage. The latter is found in the Dimensional Vortex, in the Present dungeon. There's a Strength Capsule that's sort of hidden - reach it and go south into what appears to be a pointless hole. But actually, it takes you to a hidden area where you can get his weapon.

Dragonhead (helmet) gives higher attack/strength ratings, but lower defense/speed than his Gloom armor. But like Crono, Saurian Leathers is better in every way.

I have a basic Lost Sanctum guide in submission status on GameFAQs - I'd be more than happy to hand it over to someone here if they want to restructure it for the site purposes (or simply host it on the site if that's no problem). E-mail me and I can get you the copy.
