Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: What if...?
« on: November 30, 2009, 05:37:34 pm »I actually think Magus would've been best off if he'd ended up back in the BC Era. He would've been revered as a god by the humans, probably would've taken Ayla's place as chief, and had a chance to try and avoid the Zeal situation altogether or even attack Lavos when he first fell (not likely, though, as he buries himself pretty quickly).
Would be interesting if he became chief of the Laruba before the reptites attacked their village. If then there happened to be strife between the two human tribes, the reptites could have a shot at surviving.

Frog is one of the coolest characters ever. And quite possibly the coolest one on the SNES. To top it all, his theme music rocks.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: If Chrono Cross plot could take place on Earth where it would be situated?

I would place it in the Canaries. An archipelago with a climate close enough to El Nido's, and near to Europe, which is a plus, since Guardia and Porre have always sounded european to me.

General Discussion / Re: Fuck Sexism
« on: August 05, 2009, 03:23:08 am »Z, quit taking things so goddamn personally. You are the ONLY one who always does that in these discussions and it really is counter productive. You want more people to take your rhetoric more seriously? I would cut out all the insults because it only makes you look like a little kid trying to participate in big boy discussions.QuoteZaichik, you don't have to be a vegetarian if you're an environmentalist. Just watch No Reservation's segment on Ted Nugent in Texas. He's a HUGE environmentalist; he has his own reserve stocked with wildlife and plants. For every tree he cuts down, he plants two more. For every animal he hunts, he breeds or rescues two more. And the best part? He's a hunter. He hunts and eats his own meat.
While I would do my part for the environment, I would just die if I ever had to be a vegetarian. It just makes no sense at all.
I understand what you mean, but I do tend to believe the environmentalists when they say the meat industry is probably the biggest negative impact on environment... A large portion of environmentalists claim that you have no right to call yourself an environmentalist if you eat meat because you contribute to the massive degradation of not only the surrounding environment, but the ecosystem at large. If I want to be more serious about my commitment to the environment, the biggest change I could make would be to stop eating meat. But I'm not really ready to try that.
As for that guy, he sounds really cool. It sounds like he's very hardcore and serious about self-sustainment. I would consider him to be an exception because he hunts and kills animals for his own consumption rather than participating in the meat-cultivation industry.
Why is eating meat bad for the environment? AFAIK eating plants, especially grains, is much worse, since they require a much larger parcel of land to be grown than cattle, and thus make deforestation worse.

Does anyone knows how a character's defense is calculated?

Sorry to ask Zeality, but why are you going to take action against the leaker? That's the only way the game could be released in any form anyway.

Given my absolute liking of reptites, I can only say that the project sounds great. Hope you get through that battle assembly problem!

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: If Chrono Trigger was remade for DS, this is what I'd like...
« on: July 05, 2007, 01:53:59 am »
Actually, voiceovers are a pretty good idea, IF optional. Otherwise no, it would not be worth the risk. Another thing that would be good in the game is the addition of a new character (like they added new content in the FF remakes), maybe Schala, maybe someone entirely new.

Why does something have to crash the course of time? Our beloved characters could be doing quests to end problems in the eras, against enemies that have no power over time itself, but maybe can use the portals just as the characters do.

Well, I can think of loads of things to add:P Schala, for example. But if they don't want make any drastic additions, which is fine since it is a re-release, even some new items would be nice. And it's just dumbness on their part - Chrono Trigger was one of their most successful games in the SNES, it doesn't make any sense to not release it on the GBA even if it is on it's current form.

Yes, we ought to do something really productive, like a good game with a Chrono theme, and make it successful. Much better than petitions or boycotts - they never seem to work. Btw, am I the only one to notice that Chrono Trigger did not get a GBA re-release like FFV and FFVI did? I wonder why, their PSX release was together. And those GBA re-releases tend to have interesting new content.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Trigger Remake for GBA?
« on: December 08, 2006, 11:45:11 am »
I hope Chrono Trigger will possibly be remade for GBA, and it doesn't seem a too far off possibility, since Final Fantasy IV, V and VI have been/are being remade for GBA, and what's best - all with a new translantion and new content (new jobs in FFV, new espers in FFVI, and so on). Maybe we could get a new character or techs, along with a redone translation?
