No matter what I choose, it just says "Dang." All four choices give say this. Therefore I can never pick any order of them.

I'm with you man. I searched all over the singing mountains as I couldn't find anything besides 4 instruments and a choosing game inside the cavern. No matter what I choose I lose.

Since I don't know where else to say this... I found a pretty nasty bug.
I am searching for Ayla in the singing mountains, however, I am also exploring. Every time I go into the Dactly Nest the game freezes. The character simply do not move. The music continues to play though. This happens only at the peak of the dactyl nest.
It happens every time for me. I hope I don't need to go up there at some point.

I can finally progress.
The demo is pretty awesome, but the initial delivery quest took me about an hour of aimless wandering. I would never have found that secret cave behind the mountain if not told about it. I would have given up the demo almost instantly if I had not known before hand it was going to be awesome. I think these design choices may turn away a lot of potential players. But then again, anyone playing would already have to be a fan of Chrono Trigger. So maybe my point is moot.
So far though, the demo is awesome besides those wandering parts.

If you want to download the alpha (at least how I call it), this is where I got it from. Found the link from here. As for the beta I can't help.
Thank you, but when I try to open the file it says that the archive is either damaged or an unknown filetype.

So the demo seems good so far... but there is a major problem. I find that I keep just wandering around aimlessly with no idea what to do or where to go. I finally finished the first fetch quest and delivered all the items. Now I'm playing as Magus and beat the Golem. Now I'm just wandering around aimlessly (have been for about 40 minutes). I have talked to everyone, went everywhere... there is nothing else to do.

I can't even find the files anywhere. Someone loaded it as an atatchment in the early pages but that file is corrupted.

I'm playing Demo 2 right now.
I have been playing for two hours and cannot even do anything.
I delivered the pie, but I have talked to every single NPC and cannot find the ferry captain. I went to Medina as well. The Vangaurd wont let me in to deliver the sword. I have been wandering for an hour. What the heck am I supposed to do?
