It'd be even better if they added CT and CC. They ported Legend of Mana and Final Fantasies 7-9, so why not?

This has probably been asked before, but I figured, what the hell.

I'd LOVE to be able to play CT again, preferably the SNES version.

The title question applies to both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.

I found many of CC's bosses fairly challenging, but I was completely thrown off by Miguel. After first meeting the (very weak-looking) guy, I had no idea he would be a boss, let alone a difficult one, yet he defied all my expections and took out my team like it was nothing. He gave me quite a hard time my first playthrough, and it took a few tries to finally defeat him.

Which boss gave you the most trouble?

Oh, and this includes optional bosses, too.

Youll also get Korcha's mom, whatever her name is.

Macha.

And on a related note, I just re-bought CC yesterday. I can't wait for it to arrive. :D

There's already a "If you could make Chrono Cross better, how would you do it?" thread, though, so it may interest you to check that out...

Is there? I must have missed that. :?

Is that sarcasm? Aren't there enough characters in Chrono Cross?

Not sarcasm. I enjoyed collecting all the characters.

I'll defend everything in that game except for graphics and just plain awful, awful translation errors (i.e. "This guy are sick", "Safer Sephiroth").

And my personal favorite: "I've got the wrong person." (Said by Tifa if you try teaching her someone else's Level 4 Limit Break.)

Define "best."

I think Woolsey's is the funnest, but it's obviously not the most accurate (though, considering the limited time and censorship he had to deal with, that's not his fault).

Yeah, but I was thinking of something like CTDS, where you can view maps of locations and where all the items are.

How so? They already have an item section with pictures and descriptions of the major "treasure" in the game, the rest is just equipment/parts that are collected.

Do they? I forgot about that. I haven't played the game in ages. :(

...with new features, what kind of features would you like added?

I'd like:

1. A treasure atlas
2. A bestiary
3. A music box
4. An ending log (one that actually let you watch any endings you unlocked, whenever you want)
5. A new dungeon or two, or at least a few more sidequests (even without those added, though, it would be fine, because there's already plenty to do in the game)
6. Some more backstory to resolve any remaining questions regarding the fate of Crono, Marle, and Lucca, the rise of Porre, etc.
7. A new character or two might be cool, too

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Most Reliable Wonder Rock?

Feh. Red Ghaj still give out more exp per hour.

Agreed, those things are great for grinding. Too bad they can't be Charmed for Magic Capsules like they're non-red cousins... :(

Have you done Terra Tower? The music there gives me goosebumps every time. Most notably the Dragon God battle. I thought that part had the most awesome music in the game.

Agreed. The music during the Dragon God battle is some of the best music I've ever heard, in any game, probably one of the three best pieces of music I've ever heard in a video game. Spectacularly epic.

General Discussion / Re: The $%*! frustration thread
« on: December 07, 2008, 09:05:39 am »
Yesterday I decided to give Chrono Cross a shot, to see if my past problems with the game (glitches, screens never loading, game freezing, etc.) were the fault of the disc, or of my (quite ancient) PlayStation. I tried playing it on my PS3. All was going well until I used "Pilfer" during a battle. Kid entered her stance (the one the character enters right before using an element), and remained in that stance, as the sound effect kept playing...and nothing happened. I came back a few minutes later, and it was still like that. I wasn't too far in the game (I had just recruited Guile, and was making my way up the cliff to Viper Manor), but I hadn't saved recently, so I was a bit pissed.

So, looks like I'll have to just buy a new copy of the game.

EDIT: And just for reference, my copy of CC is fairly old (bought it on its release date), and, having been borrowed by many friends, the discs aren't exactly in top shape.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Geno Dome Still the Best?
« on: December 07, 2008, 09:01:29 am »
In the 1,000 A.D. Dimensional Vortex, one of the random areas that appears is, in fact, the Geno Dome conveyer belt. Another one is the Black Omen room with the four Aliens (now called "Ghaj"), which means you can keep re-doing the place and Charming Magic Capsules to your heart's content. :D
