Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Chrono Trigger DS Analysis HQ (Spoiler Spoiler, of course)
« on: January 08, 2009, 06:55:06 pm »
From what I know of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, these two games follow seperate timelines in which they similar in many ways but have various differences that make them so unique. From what I can tell, the Dimensional Vortex was essentially binding these two timelines together through the various memories of the characters within. This Magus that was shown in Times Eclipse is most likely from that of the timeline in Chrono Cross. Perhaps more importantly is that the Dream Devourer is Lavos from Chrono Trigger but through its ability to use time and Schala, it was able to find a way to traverse through the various existences and make its way to Chrono Cross universe. Of course I've never played Chrono Cross to even confirm this but from what I know, this may be the most likely thing.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: A question about Magus (Possible Spoilers..)

He was difficult the first time I went against him mainly because I wasn't prepared. To me, it doesn't matter if the battle was hard, only that it was epic and something I won't forget in an RPG. I mean, the music fit the battle perfectly.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Most Memorable Boss Fight

I'm conflicted between two choices. The first is the first battle against Magus and the second is the Dream Devourer fight, mainly because it was very difficult until I got status immune armor for everyone.

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Chrono Compedium Podcast
« on: January 07, 2009, 10:47:22 pm »
I've recently been thinking of starting a podcast, since I've done a couple in the past but I wasn't sure what to base my podcast on. Then I started play Chrono Trigger DS and I felt I had to make a podcast regarding the site and the Chrono games. I've done two podcasts, both of them on RPGs in the past involving the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. If this is something the community is interested in, I will surely put together a project regarding a podcast, with the adminitrators permission of course. Your welcome to add any input you feel is necessary about the podcast or regarding the podcast layout and how things will work out or if you simply feel the need to agree with me on wanting a podcast. I would most certaintly like to be the host of said podcast and would of course bring in some notable figures from the forums as my co-hosts and such.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: The Real Way to Spell the Main Characters Name
« on: January 06, 2009, 09:49:45 pm »
It makes perfect story sense to me. Whats the point of Glenn not revealing his true name, and why should Magus become Janus after he joins the party. Its not as if he wanted the name, the Fiends gave him that name as a title or name if you will. Plus Schala does call Magus Janus in the Dreams Epilogue.

Doesn't his sister say that as well when your fighting the Dream Devourer in the new ending? If so then it would be correct to call him Janus.

Which makes sense considering his original name was Janus but he was given the name Magus.

I usually do call Frog "Glenn" as it seems more appropraite considering that people who actually know him will address him as Frog or Glenn depending on how you named him. I think I shall call him Crono. What about Magus. Should his name be changed to Janus?

Well I was thinking of calling him Chrono but you make a good point in regards to the trailers, instruction manual and such saying Crono instead of Chrono.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / The Real Way to Spell the Main Characters Name
« on: January 06, 2009, 06:39:35 pm »
What is the correct way of spelling the main characters name. Now that theres an extra digit in the DS version, is it appropriate to call him Chrono instead of Crono or should you continue to spell it as Crono as it is the original way of spelling it but only due to a character limit. The reason I ask this is because I am starting a New Game Plus in which this will be my ultimate and perfect playthrough or file. Any thoughts and if this has already been discussed can I please be directed to the appropraiate thread. Thank you.
