Kajar Laboratories / Chrono Trigger Flash Series
« on: August 10, 2005, 12:45:32 am »
Hey, now this is my kind of topic! While I may be nowhere near the level of SSJoseph, ala a professional Flash designer, I have had plenty of experience with Flash MX Professional. (My actual drawing skills are subpar (which is why I'm glad this is a sprite project), but I what I lack there I try to make up with Flash development skills. If you need samples, I'll see what I can provide you with. )

Although my schedule is quite busy (between work and scriptwriting (for my major)), I wouldn't mind contributing a bit to this project. If I can help in any shape or form, I'd be glad to lend a hand.

So... you're actually going to draw 120,000 of these?

no. my main artist is the one that's going to draw most of the movie. he's a very good artist. (much better than me, to assure you).

But... still. 120k? If each drawing only takes 1 minute for each, that would take... 2000 hours. Divide that by two people still yields 1000h each. That's 3h 7 days a week for an entire year. If each takes only five minutes, it's five years work. I'm still not sure how you're going to manage that. But wait: how long will it be? My estimates were based on a 100min movie.

yes around there. im aware of how long it'll take. and im aware of...everything.
btw if you're referring to me saying "i drew 6 pics of him and they all vanished", the only reason that's my excuse is because im making them really detailed right now for the concept pics. some clothe disigns/clothes wont be there, and most of it will just be alot simpler do to the time it will take and time we expect to finish it. also we don't have the whole team yet. i go to an arts school, so im going to post flyers around for open possissions. thats probably mostly where i will find my artists. im hoping to have at least 10 artists on the team so it will go even quicker.

What school?  Is it in Florida?

Were you referencing FullSail or one of the multitudes of other ones scattered around the state? (I don't attend any of them (I went with UCF instead), but I do know several people that do.)

As for the picture...it reminds me strangely of a stand in drawing I used in the trailer I had been working on....

How are you planning on doing this? Is it going to be animated? What type of animator do you have?

I'd also like to find out this info as well. I've been fiddling around with ideas for a CT movie/animation/whatever for awhile, so it's always good to hear that other's are working on similar projects.

(I made a "trailer" for said project, but due to my lackluster drawing abilities and time restraints on the original version of it, it looked like crap. I've been slowly revamping it so that it's actually a postable trailer and something I could base my ideas off of for a larger Flash project...)

me and a bunch of my friends have started working on a chrono trigger movie project. its going to be an animated film, kinda like japanese anime, but not so much the same. my website is (well actually its a forum but it works)
http://ctfansite.proboards37.com

Before I register there at that forum, what type of medium is your group planning on using to create this movie? Are you planning on hand-drawing it or doing it digitally through things like Flash, Director, etc? Or a mix of both (probably the most likely case I assume)?

Site Updates / CTRP gets C&D letter; Compendium status

It's a shame to see another remake project with so much potential go the way of the dodo. As you stated, since it was less publicized than that of CT: Resurrection, I was hoping this would one would go unnoticed by SquareEnix. I suppose not. Well, here's hoping all these cancellations will lead to something official from SE such as a remake or new game.

Anyways, I'm looking foward to the "official" re-opening of the site.

...And uhh...hi everyone. I'm sort of new. (I've been lurking for long enough so I figured I start posting and such.)
