Chrono News / Re: Radical Dreamers Satellaview Tsushin article
« on: November 26, 2013, 07:01:33 pm »
Also, as I just figured out, this screenshot must be a undumped Chrono Trigger Satellaview magazine. It got the typical border of those virtual mags with the buttons which show how to navigate through the magazine around it.
I updated the news accordingly.
If you want to know what I mean, check out my recent dump of Tora no Chou Ooana 2 4/7 about Rudra no Hihou...

Chrono News / Re: New Chrono Trigger Beta Screen and Radical Dreamers Satellaview Tsushin article
« on: November 24, 2013, 04:17:31 pm »
It seems like this is indeed a hidden room in the final game, so the screenshot is no beta-exclusive material. lytron already updated his article because of that.
Anyway, the Radical Dreamers article might still be of interest

Chrono News / Radical Dreamers Satellaview Tsushin article
« on: November 24, 2013, 01:25:28 pm »
The SNES programmer and disassembler lytron went through the trouble of buying 5 of the rare and expensive Satellaview Tsushins from Yahoo Japan which he will scan and upload in the next months. For the time being, he already photographed some articles of big interest. Included are an article of Radical Dreamers and a screenshot of a Chrono Trigger scene which didnt make it to the final game a screenshot of a undumped Chrono Trigger Satellaview magazine.

Chrono News / Re: Release date of the Chrono Trigger Satellaview-Specials uncovered
« on: July 27, 2013, 10:26:17 pm »
@Bekkler:
This was one of the last unknow "hard" facts about the officially released chrono software. You know, stuff you would write into a game listing: name, system, genre, publisher, developer, regions which got a release, price (this one's kinda redundent on Satellaview games), release date. I could have explained it a little more, you are kinda right about that.
@Zeality:
I also added them to gamefaqs yesterday. I didn't add it to wikipedia though.

Chrono News / Release date of the Chrono Trigger Satellaview-Specials uncovered
« on: July 18, 2013, 03:13:38 pm »
Here's my original writeup:
http://superfamicom.org/blog/2013/07/dig-iii-chrono-trigger-bs-specials-naba-chan-and-more/
Release date of
Chrono Trigger Jet Bike Special
Chrono Trigger Character Library
and Chrono Trigger Music Library
is 31. July of 1995.
Source: http://i.imgur.com/67ok6hVh.jpg
and all Famitsus with Satellaview schedules before this one (because they didn't had those titles listed, for verification that this is really the first broadcast)
Of course I textdump and comment the scans, but I also have to give big credit to Benjamin Stevens from Planet Virtualboy who went through the trouble of scanning all schedules from his complete 1995 Famitsu-collection. 1996 and later is well reported on japanese websites, but all schedules from 1995 have been unknown to the public so far.
1995 will also most likely feature so far undocumented Satellaview releases of Seiken Densetsu 3, Terranigma and Romancing Saga 3. Make sure to stop by at Satellablog from time to time to check the latest scan-analysis (or even romreleases).

Kajar Laboratories / I need some creativity of this community: > Gato Quiz <
« on: February 10, 2013, 10:37:36 am »
So, I am searching for good questions Gato may ask you about the quest and happenings in Chrono Trigger.
Some tidbits are important: they need to be in his typical way of speaking/singing and they need 4 possible answers. If the questions or answers are tricky, funny or weird is up to you, just try to make them cool and creative.
There is a good chance of good questions to re-appear in a future Chrono-fanrelease

I really cant believe why they didn't put it into one of the Chrono Trigger Remakes or at least Virtual Console. Probably because they don't want it to exist next to Chrono Cross.
But well... from now you can be pretty sure that the game will keep its price if you get it, since another release was already denied by S-E.
I love the game and its really a damn shame that it fell into obscurity and it is only something for people who are willing to spend a lot $$$ into their gaming library.

Just found this copy here: http://www.solarisjapan.com/radical-dreamers-satellaview-cart/
Solaris seems to be the only importshop with a nice little selection of Satellaview games. Not cheap, but cheaper than yahoo auctions...
I am happy that I already have my copy... SFC and SNES prices go crazy lately.

Darkness Beyond Time - Dead Project Discussion / Re: 5 years later (CE: SPOILERS)

Thanks for making this clear. So he can actually be affected when he was killed by another time traveler as, lets say, a baby.

Very interesting thread. For me it always was kind of strange why frog should change into the unaltered Glenn during CE.
Can someone explain why he should lose his time traveler immunity and if he does for whatever reason why he should still have memories of the past time travels?
Another thing which is hopefully not too offtopic. What about the lost time traveler immunity in Chrono Trigger? There was indeed only one scene like that, Marles disappearing in 600AD. What could have made her inimmune to the altered past?

Ultimate Capcom VS Marvel is only the working title.
The real name was just revealed:
Ultimate Mud Wrestling - Gaycom VS Malevel
Just kidding about Bekklers recognition
Firebrand and Phoenix Wright are nice adds

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Games which are similar to Chrono Trigger
« on: July 22, 2011, 07:43:08 pm »
I played Dragon Quest IV to VI (seriously... I need to track down III!) and yep, the athmosphere is pretty similar at some points.
About Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is the black sheep in the series. The last boss only needs all your summons for 1 time to be defeated.... If you remember the bosses from 1 and 2 it comes to mind that its pretty unbalanced since the others were at least a bit challenging and the last boss was truly epic. Overall, Dark Dawn is a decent game because of its puzzles and nice athmosphere but the rpg part and story just fails.
Yellow card for Camelot!

Okay, Dragon Quest has the same Character Designer and is somewhat the ancestor of many 90s RPGs... but what is similar to Chrono Trigger in Secret of Mana? O___o
