just found this thread, so I read till the end and now it isn't happening! ahh! Well, not for now I guess...
Are auditions still being taken, or should I wait until the project is back up?

lol... I guess it might not be.
I have gamemaker and am currently creating a sample "engine" for my own planned Chrono game. I still have a lot of work to do (I think gamemaker was created with more arcade style games in mind) but I'm making progress.
I recommend reading the instruction (the help file) thoroughly if you are really interested in using it.
A little programming experience doesn't hurt either
