I'm a nerd. I thought nerds play video games.

My two cents..

Lets say she dropped it. That would mean that once the portal is open, she gets broken up into peices thanks to the telepod, dropping the amulet before that. Once Crono gets on he *doesn't* drop the amulet. Doesn't that seem like a bit of huge luck that Marle would drop it? Not only that but then Lucca has to make a gate key *without* the amulet, which is true, but up until I read this, I always thought thats how she made the gate key =/

If we say its a higher entity, then Marle didn't drop it and it wasn't broken up into peices because the entity wanted Crono to go through the gate, setting off a chain events. That is what the entity wanted to happen but if I'm not mistaken, its the only time the entity directly influences something like that. It may have done things such as the gates but gates and making Marle drop her amulet are very different, in my view.

I think it is just going with unsatisfactory answers. Perhaps that can be explained in Chrono Trigger + =)
Have a great day everyone.

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: Lavos Question
« on: December 01, 2007, 05:59:12 am »
Destruction Rains from Heaven.. Well, it looks a lot like rocks that flew up and then fell back down after Lavos 'rushed' to the surface. That would be normal for anything that 'rushes' to the surface from beneath the ground. And I only say rushes because you can only imagine.

Going to the evil part.. he may or may not be evil, but Lavos is a lot like humans in that he influenced living things for his own benefit, kinda like we have farm animals, so we can eventually make them into edible goodies. If we ever had 'enough' to eat, perhaps we would use our own 'Destruction Rains from Heaven' on the almost completely worthless farm animals or maybe we'd let them do their own thing, as long as they stay out of our way.

what language is temporal flux written in again? i guess this is a lazy question

Wow, harsh. Perhaps what they really need is a second chance to present their idea and project.

..Or maybe not?

I don't think we want to encourage them to give up, do we? I mean it does suck when a project doesn't make it, but we should at least tell them to keep trying, right? Maybe showing him all the reasons why will help make the project form up better.
Iunno, if he gets people recruited, good luck to them.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Re: "Unofficial" TF Exports Thread

Well said, Kyronea.  You guys should also take it as a compliment that so many people can't wait to play what you guys make. You guys take enough time to get what you want done and I hope you guys stick with it.  :D

Good luck with the move(unpacking and just adjusting) and your internet too, Zakyrus

Thanks for answering my question. And maybe the Black Wind is kind of like fire. We wouldn't say you can make fire do anything but in this game you can. Perhaps the Black Wind is a type of wind and ppl can control wind.

Anyway, Good luck!  :)

Just a question. The Black Wind is something you can use and control? I always felt like Magus heard the Black Wind howling and it only howled or blew when someone (or something) was going to die.

Here you use it like it is something you can control and use to your own purposes. Am I wrong or are you just altering it to fit your purposes?

I was a gamer since I was young, and I loved RPG's. So whenever I went to the video rental store, I would look for RPG's to play. One day I came upon this one and I rented it many times. I think I kept on getting to the part where you have to get Frog to slice through that mountain to go after Magus but I never knew thats what I had to do and then I had to return it to the rental store.

This past year I bought Chrono Cross. I've beaten it once and now I'm trying to get the many different endings.

Polling / Re: Ratifying the current Compendium charter and organization
« on: February 26, 2007, 11:48:22 pm »
Ok, i have a few very minor, nitpicky things to say about the charter. Firstly, it doesn't say when you have courts for Guru Promotion, I'm guessing its once a year, but it does not say in the charter. Secondly, under III.Code of Conduct, Member Section, #6, i feel like ..shall not create an user name intended.. should be ..shall not create a user name intended.. However, I'm not a wiz at english. Sorry for the nitpicking.

If you did all the Guru's (not the titles), maybe you could add in Schala or Queen Zeal. Schala being another forefront figure of Good and Queen Zeal as being one of the most powerful icons of Evil.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Re: Best Chrono Trigger Sequel
« on: November 24, 2006, 02:09:15 pm »
Chrono Cross for PS1 or did you forget that? It is a sequel. However, many people don't like it as much as Chrono Trigger, and also, there is Radical Dreamers, another sequel (kind of). I figure you've already heard of them, but I would bring them up, just in case.

Chrono Trigger Modification / Re: Help Wanted!
« on: May 31, 2006, 01:15:21 pm »
This looks really cool.  I'm happy some people can do this and understand.  I can't really.  I just had two comments.

1. If the guy needs help, he'll be less likely to document because that just adds to the time needed to making the game. And..

2. "ALSO, I may change the pendulum cause it's not really a CT game.  Hard to explain it a bit, it's a ct game but not a ct game.  But yeah you get the point of how far we can change this project."  If I'm able to give you some input, the pendulum doesn't mean a CT game, but gives the feeling of time, in my opinion.  If the story has an aspect of time, I personally think it fits.

Good luck, I hope you get some talent soon.

Chrono Trigger Modification / What do you want to do in Temporal Flux?
« on: March 08, 2006, 01:14:34 am »
A guide to events and commands would be great.  A guide to everything in the menus of TF would be great.  TF is great and fairly user friendly, but a lot of us have no knowledge about the "coding" behind it and aren't completely sure what it all means.  Tutorials would be great but I think we need some more explanation on what we are manipulating (Probably just me).

I'm not really a big time TF user.  I have only between 2 and 3 hours of use.  I do think I would understand a little better if I could spend more time with it, but it gets frusterating and I always end up screwing something up.  Perhaps, something to bridge the gap better would be useful?  I do love the idea of making my own games or subsections of Chrono Trigger with it.

As a side note, I'm learning how to use Visual Basic .NET and I think I could compile all the information we know about TF and its properties into a little learning/information program.  I don't really know if it would be more useful than just coming here and looking it up, but I thought I might try.
