Zappa's third tech, involving Zappa pulling out a black iron ball, striking it with a hammer, after which it explodes, is similar what is seen at the end of CT when Lucca's dad strikes a similar black iron ball to launch fireworks.

i was bored this morning so i compiled some screenshots into a full image of a room in chronopolis

any place to find similar images?

minus my personal baises heres the points i was trying to make;
1. just because we are given an answere to one question (what created the gates) dosn't mean we should not presue further questions(how where the gates made? why specifically where they made?) a point was made earlier as to what the motivation of the entity sending the characters through time was, if it was going to recover anyway, is it specifically mentioned that the entity was trying to change the past intentionally, or was the groups actions an unforseen resualt of the entity recalling its past? also did the entity truthfully know it was going to die or could it just have assumed it was going to die?

2. on the issue of weather or not the planet could recover, im reminded of the show "mystery diagnosis" on the discovery health channel, each "episode" has a vary specific flow; person gets sick, person looks for advice, doctor gives treatments, person gets sicker, person starts to accept their own mortality, new doctor finds real cause of sickness, person gets better. thats what could have happened in CT in regards to the "entity" recalling it's past, it could have been at the stage of "accepted mortality".

on the issue of humans being harmful to the entity(defined as nature) this could only be partially so, we see the people of the ruined future try to grow a plant for example, humans could be as much an enemy to nature(entity) as they are to chickens and cows, sure we may slaughter and exploit them for our own benifit but we are still dependent on their survival. so in regards to the entity using humans to help itself it may just be a case of "the ends justify the means" (ends:entity's survival, means: using an exploitative or abusive aquantence)

4
Again, that makes no sense. If the Planet is to recover, why would the Planet bother creating Gates and sending Crono and the gang on their journey in the first place? The Planet does not care about the humans, only for its own life. If it was just humanity dying out I don't think the Planet would care. It's a misinterpretation on Zeality's part, though definitely an understandable one.

your assumption on the entity creating the gates for its own survival might be one of the causes of this problem, later after this post you admit that mother brain could be wrong in her assumptions, no matter how logical they may seem, couldn't Robo also be wrong about his observation that "It is almost as if some entity wanted to relive its past"?

im reminded of a time in highschool when after another teacher left the classroom a student said "he looks like he is stoned" the teacher started talking about slander while i was thinking the kid had made a simple observation.

just because Robo's observation (that the chain of events that  direct the party are similar to that of a dieing person reliving their past), has some logic to it dosn't mean that it is exactly whats realy happening.

but going along with this whole entity created gates nonsense(in my opinion) have you ever been so ill you felt like you where going to die(this is more of a thought expairment then a question), and having been reduced to morning about your condition? don't you think you would remember some key points in your life at that point? people can get sick to the point in which they think death is around the corner, but they manage to pull through. just because the entity thinks its dieing, dosn't mean it is in actuality "living on barrowed time".

Lavos's gates and blackholes behave differently.

A blackhole would have sucked far more than just a castle into oblivion. I wonder, if Lavos threw Crono and co back in time, where did Magus's castle go?

yes but your missing the general point that black holes and worm holes both minipulate gravity(which is the curvature of space/time)

also theres nothing to say that the "black holes" we see throughout the series are true black holes or reactions that if left uncontrolled would cascade into the triditional black hole we see in reality

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Re: The Fall of Guardia
« on: October 14, 2006, 02:35:46 am »
my own persional opinion on how guardia fell even though crono and marle where within the kingdom or even at the thrown is the difference between magic and elements

-we know for a face that elements are tangible, they can be bought sold equiped unequiped and stolen.
-the nature of magic in CT requires the user have enough energy(MP) to channle or cast the magical spell/ability
-the nature of elements revolves around "momentium" so long as the user can build up enough "momentium" they can
     preform the attack
-magical spells and ability are almost exclusive to the user
-most elements can be used by any user

if you consider that the fall of guardia to porre takes place around the time frame that elements became useable i think it is entirely possable that porre with their new weapon, elements, would by far over power guardia's, limited population of magic users.

how about this one of the gurus(the name excapes me) had a hand in building chronopolis correct? being of zealian origin i don't think it would be entirely off base for him to use zealian building styles for chronopolis, this would explain any similarity in appearence

Time, Space, and Dimensions / Re: Did Schala cross to our dimension?

Well, it can't be the Chrono Cross' fault. It is stated to only have the power to unite things, unite minds, heal (could be mental or physical) and merge things that were once two or just reset them to their original.

Well, Schala's been outside the time stream for like, 13,000 years, and is no longer the original Schala that left the timeline. The Chrono Cross probably doesn't know what to do with her.

Quote
Anyway, Schala's ending journal passage hints that she believes in reincarnation, and that would mean that Serge could be reincarnated anywhere. Hence, she is looking in our dimension is well. It was a really ingenious thing to do - connecting the journal to the ending cinematics. If you understand the journal, then you'd understand the cinematics. Probably from her fruitless effort in the present of our dimension, the turning back clocks could mean that she will look in it's past.
Her goal is to find Serge (but I sometimes think Magus anyway) in any time, in any place, in any reality.

That's all just speculation and assumption.

trust me, everything on this site is speculation and assumption, the resualt of the devlopers not fleshing out every little odd and end in the game to the point where there are no questions about even the slightest thing, see "nu". we are just doing what we can and the whole speculation and assumption arguement just negates everything we have ever theorised

So? It doesn't really change anything.

Change? no Exaplain? yes

I beleive that Lavos is earth. their both related to the same entity right. so they must both be the same being. I'm probably not right! but thats my down to earth opinion of Lavos and earth 8)

intresting take on it, prehaps lovas and earth merged in some spiritual way.

Most you have notice that in ending cutscene that there's blonde girl holding an Astral Amulet in the middle of Tokyo.  Is it possible that she cross our dimension using the Astral Amulet?

well it would make sense from the credits movie obviously. i dont see any thing that would prevent her from doing that. even if she needed to be involved with the orignal split between the "real" deminsion and Chrono deminsions, prehaps something from lavos rubbed off on her in that respect

the most implied part i would have to say is his black hole spell. a wormhole is essentialy a bend in space/time, a black hole is a much more extreme bend, so either he didn't even think of minipulating his powers in such a way during CT(gravity equaling bent space is only a fairly recent observation compared to the time line of CT) or he didn't see a use for it sense a black hole seems more agressive then a worm hole

It proves that Magus's powers are incredible right? A blackhole isn't just your average magic spell. His ability either misses or annihilates the enemy. Magus can't always cast the blackhole attack each battle, he has to be a certain range towards and from the enemy, or he would obliterate himself. The ability to manipulate the fabric of spacetime is a serious issue. Magus has this power, but I believe he creates a manipulation of a blackhole . . . or he might generate a smaller version of the real thing. It would take much focus and control but the effect of opening an actual blackhole would be like turning off the oxygen in the given area where Chrono and co. is currently fighting in, resulting in a double KO (Street Fighter) of Chrono, party, and the enemies. Or . . . I am wrong and he can infact create a whole in space time, since the Earth and all its attributes and components are taking up space right now, and can send his enemies into nothingness.

What are you trying to get at with this wormhole idea though?

I've already said a billion times how Magus is not making a quantum black hole. If he was, he'd destroy the entire earth. It's simply a magical wormhole with a menacing name.

Quantum.

Let's just say his magic attack is an apparition of the real thing with similar attributes. I don't think a wormhole is the correct use of word for his magic attack.

correct me if i'm wrong but a worm hole can span time as well as space. there for a gate would somewhat act or even be a worm hole(in some sort of dormant state mind you, which the gate key either activates or stretches it to make it a practical form of time travel)

sense gravity is simply a distortion in space/time, and black holes are the most extreme example of these distortions i think the creation of wormholes would require the same gravity minipulating abilities as that of creating a black hole weather it requires more minipulation or less minipulation im unsure.

in regards to the distructive power of a black hole: from what we see in CT (from magus's spell) it would appear that magus "opens" a black hole and sees if it is capable of consuming an enemy, then closes it to keep its distructive power in check, thats probably what the failure actualy is, simply magus stopping the small black hole from becomming so powerful to either consume himself or "unwanted targets"

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: An insane theory
« on: September 08, 2006, 11:24:38 am »
No matter how many times they blame Lavos for the Gates, remember that the Entity discussion starts off with Robo saying "I don't think Lavos is responsible for the Gates." What more is needed? Is Robo an habitual liar?

the word liar implys that the being knows the information and says something that contradicts the information that it knows.

Robo is a machine who through his 400 years of working the fields was exposed to large amounts of human emotions.  his thoughts where that the gates seemed similar to that of a dieing being who in their last moments remembers certain events from the past. although an interesting idea i think leaving the whole gate subject to "the entity did it" is worthless and i think it should at least be expanded apon. rubber balls where once thought to have a mind of their own, much like matalic objects responding to a magnetic force. ok the entity is the planet and the planet is some how involved in creating the gates, lets expand apon this. much like "gaia" was once considered a god with free will, today we can explain the processes of "gaia" so long as those processes are held as common knowledge theres no problem with summerizing the propper working order of the planet as "gaia".

all I'm saying is put your analitical capability where your mouth is, try to come up with a theory that both explains in greater detail how the gates where made, while still maintaining some link to the planet.

the impact of lovas creating a gate to the dark ages, it explains how the gate was made and the explaination involves the planet, no problem with that for example

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Re: An insane theory

...The planet is the Entity. Too much evidence goes towards this, and we wouldn't be having this discussion if the CT translation were more accurate. Let's not go back to pre-Compendium Chrono community days and start discussing the Entity.
but the only evidence that "the entity" was invovled in the creation of the gates is by only one small peice of dialog in CT. can you tell me if it i mentioned anywhere elese?

In the Reptite Dimension, Lavos never appears and the Reptites conquer the Apes. However, would it not be safe to assume there is another dimension in which the opposite occurs, and the Apes conquer the Reptites (And Lavos never falls to the Earth)? While it's never used in the storyline, it's always a possibly dimension that was never created (Or seen).

well i suppose there could be two dimensions where one is a lavos impact and the other is an astroid impact
