Chrono Trigger and Corridors of Time
« on: August 05, 2005, 02:45:13 pm »
I don't know if this has already been discussed, but have you noticed that these two tracks (Chrono Trigger, Corridors of Time) are very similar? In fact, the theme Corridors of Time contains the theme of Chrono Trigger, but it is modified and sounds different (I'm not speaking about the instruments, but the melody itself). If you haven't yet noticed, listen to Corridors of Time while having the Chrono Trigger in mind and tell me your opinion about it.

Most people have, I'm guessing.  I'm sure they wanted to give somewhat of a throwback to Chrono Trigger.  Maybe they're even trying to establish that that particular song (or anything close to it) is the "official" Chrono series theme song, much in the same way Final Fantasy has their own theme (usually played when loading a game or at the final gameover screen).

Yeah, this is more obvious (or whatever is the right word for sounds  :) ) when you hear the Corridors of Time of CT:R, when after the Corridors of Time theme, the Chrono Trigger theme is played.
