Assuming you had one that is. On mine it didn't work, at all, ever. Yet on an emulated version it does.. go figure.

Eh, I used it twice for kicks. The one attack those silly monsters got on me -was- to her, so I guess it worked... that or they were just, y'know, attacking her.

I got bored once and used it on emulator... never really cared much for it... or any of the status spells actually...

I noticed it did not work for me on the SNES, yet, in your case, the emulator it did. Maybe a programming glitch?

The only way I can imaging that Provoke wouldn't work while the game is still playable, is that your ROM is corrupted in a very specific way.

Hmm I couldn't tell you if it actually didn't work on my cart, or if it just happened to not work the very few times I ever bothered to use it. I'm almost tempted to go check.
