Homage to Chrono Cross Opassa Beach in Another Eden
« on: April 27, 2020, 07:01:17 am »
Just noticed this video from the newest Another Eden story update posted on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnotherEdenGlobal/comments/g8qjt9/little_things_that_matters_pt2_zami_getaway/

This little beach has been released in AE almost exactly 20 years (give or take few months) after the release of Chrono Cross. Made me think about this thing Leena says at the start of CC:

Leena:

But aren't

memories strange?

Just when you think that

you've forgotten about

something, it comes floating

back into your heart.

I guess it's just lying

there in wait.

Waiting for that right

moment...

Why, we might even

remember this very

moment someday!

In 10, 20 years...when we're

all grown up and married,

and have kids of our own...

Then one day...

When that time comes,

I wonder what kind of adults we'll be?

What kind of life will I be leading...?

I saw it and thought the exact same thing. There are a lot of love letters to the Chrono series in this game.

In fact, I think this is the closest we'll ever get to a new Chrono game... and Masato Kato knows it.

That's neat.

Gonna agree to that.

Man, I really need to play this game again. I lost all my data after my phone broke shortly after its release last year and haven't picked it up since. Was kinda hoping for that Switch port, but it's MIA.

Hey, you can try to contact game support and ask if they still have a backup on the server. I've heard of similar cases and they just ask the account name, device and similar info only you would know.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. But I honestly did have much put into it when my phone broke--maybe less than 10 hours--so if I do play again, I'd probably just restart.

Maybe you could try it on an android emulator on PC? Bluestacks or similar..

I'm not great at emulation, though that's really just an excuse.  At the end of the day it FEELS like a mobile game.  Basically, it has so much potential to be a really fun console game, but is limited due to it's platform.

Just my opinion, obviously.  I know a lot of people are loving it and really enjoying the experience. It's just not for me.
