Was scrolling through Twitter this morning and found this piece of artwork I've never seen before. Seems to come from a book related to the anime cutscenes. Would love to see more of this :( (click below for full resolution:)

Thanks a ton. I linked the encyclopedia upload version to the original post and tacked on something about CT's 26th anniversary, since it's March 11...quite a coincidence. Thanks a ton for finding!

So, scrolling today again and found this other gem of an early drawing of Flea...I don't think it's part of the same book, but I have personally never seen this before.

These are amazing! I've never seen these before either, and seeing any new piece of Chrono Trigger material is really cool.

Models sheets like these'll be very useful for fan works, such as 3d models and cosplay. Last year I tried looking for a good reference for Frog's back head patterns while 3d modeling him.

This is neat stuff. The author of the tweet with all the character sheets replied to someone asking for the source here https://twitter.com/29kyu/status/1370351921647656969?s=20 It's apparently volume 170 of a magazine called The Playstation (ザ・プレイステーション).

That Flea pic is especially interesting to me. I believe The Super Famicom is the name of the magazine it came from. The dialogue boxes in the surrounding screenshots are from a later version of the game. I'd guess the magazine is from Nov. '94 at the earliest. Probably later.

The magazine cover says its from 10-22-1999 I'm assuming this was before or after the ps1 release, considering some of these drawings are the ones that were used officially for the ps1 release and not the SNES.

It's two different magazines. The Playstation one with all the anime character sheets is from 1999, but The Super Famicom one with the Flea artwork would have almost certainly been from somewhere around 1994 or 1995. Unless it was some kind of retrospective article.

augite and ICEKnight noticed this on Hidden Palace -- Tadayoshi Yamamuro is credited with the art.

He is the Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Heroes character designer. He is known for his straight style, as opposed to Minoru Maeda's more rounded style, and he is recognized as the chief animator and illustrator of the modern Dragon Ball franchise.

He became a main character designer for Dragon Ball Z after Minoru Maeda left Toei Animation in November 1992, at the end of the Perfect Cell Saga, a role that he shared with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru until the end of Dragon Ball GT in November 1997.

~

Question is, do we think he also did the main character art? We know Toriyama drew the scenes, since they're credited to him explicitly in his 2000s artbook, but...

Is there more information about the unseen artwork book? Is it known also if there are artworks of Ayla and Frog within its contents? Ayla and Frog are the two characters currently lacking that official depth of model sheet.
