Final Fantasy Compendium, the CC of the FF Series
Oooh, that's a fancy site. They got the meaning of Mithril wrong, thouh. It's not true-silver (that's just another name for it), but rather grey-gleam.
They also seem really confused with old Akkadian/Sumerian/Babylonian myth in so far as it relates to Tiamat. They name Tiamat as a dragon in myth, though there isn't any solid proof for this, and furthermore mention her in connection to Bahamut and Cthulu. The latter I am sure is untrue, and Bahamut is almost certainly not right either.
I wonder: do we have little errors like this sitting in our data? Oh, and that reminds me, you wanted me to write up a synopsis on the name origins, didn't you? Hmmm... come to think of it, how many of the actually have true origins? Marle, no. Lucca, no. Frog, no. Prometheus, yes. Crono, yes. Magus/Janus, yes. Ayla, no. I suppose that shouldn't be so hard.
