Yeah, that's the "spirit". But the art style is heavily derrivative of an old show called "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home." Complete with the insecure teenage daughter!

I noticed that too, though only because I saw "Wait til your father" etc. one late night in the 90's on some obscure tv channel. I thought Family Guy looked familiar...

That's how I found out. Saw a couple episodes on Cartoon Network years ago, and then never saw or heard of it again.

I saw one episode of that, and made it a point never to see another.

So it seems Seth MacFarlane had some of those jokes in storage to use with Family Guy...  Good stuff.
