I just got a hold of  Mother 3  .  Had to check it out.  I dont understand a word but I wanted to see the gameplay etc.  I'm excited for a translation.

I was thinking of checking it out.  But the whole inability to read it kind of puts me off.  I haven't played a Japanese game since Pokemon Gold. 

How's it play so far?  Is the battle system any improvement on Earthbound's?

The music is really cool and the maps are awesome.  Lots of nostalgia if you've played the other games.  Battles are same style as the old, there's something with combos but I have no idea how they work.  Not being able to read is definately a turn off (and especially for a game where the text is funny).  I have a mini translation I'm reading for chapter 1 but I may hold off awhile for a real translation.
