An online petition will never accomplish anything. Copyright law is etched in stone, and a group of angry fans aren't going to change that.

I'd rather see a team of new talent develop a new classic instead of revisiting an old one.

The CT:Ressurection team has clearly moved on anyway. They're currently making some sort of original game and expect to release a demo "soon" (soon since July 2005).

Yeah, I've gotten cynical about fan projects now. "Soon" could mean 3 years later.
