Microsoft's Xbox 360 bigwig Peter Moore has revealed that this week will see the release of a new backwards compatibility update for the next-gen console.
As reported on our sister site CVG, Moore has stated that the update, which is undergoing final testing, will enable 360 owners to play around 20 old Xbox games. Titles mentioned include Doom 3 and Lego Star Wars.
Moore also claimed that Microsoft wouldn't rest until it had fulfilled its promise of making every Xbox game playable on Xbox 360."There's a very talented team right here in the Redmond campus that are working on [backwards compatibility] and they'll continue to work on that, and more and more games we'll be announced over this calendar year and going forward."
The update will be available for download on Xbox Live, so keep an eye out for it and start dusting off those old Xbox games."
so i guess we should disregard all my previous statements, unless this is another trick. hrmmm
