In Radical Dreamers, it is said that after the Ocean Palace Incident, Schala was consumed with guilt for what she had helped bring about. The Frozen Flame, hinted to have been used in or with the Mammon Machine, then unaged her, erased her memory, and sent her to the modern era, where she lived as Kid.

Please note that I have not finished both Chrono Trigger nor Chrono Cross, please forgive me if I seem to be wrong. From the description above, it is said that Schala clearly has had her memory erased, thus sent to the modern world to live as Kid. My question is. . .when Schala was fused with what they call the "Time Devourer", (laughs) I don't know how to really put this in a question, so please forgive me. Here we go, overall. . .do you think Schala's pendant that has been left behind with Kid when found by Lucca, was a souvenier to later remind herself who she truly is & where she originated from, later to find out her real identity is Schala? I apologize if I sound naive in anyway. I just want to learn more about the countless mysterious that the Chrono Series has to offer to this new & wandering traveler. I also ask, in the picture dipicting what seems to be Kid & Serge on their wedding day, who is Kid really. . .? (Laughs & scratches Kid) To be honest, I was just looking through the Encyclopedia about the characters & backrounds of the two stories of Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross which lead to this question, (laughs) which I just got to explore, but sadly have to depart til tomorrow. I never played or read the plot for Radical Dreamers.  However, from what you say, I am confused.  The events of chrono cross is to lead up to freeing Schala from the time devourer.  Now according to  a ending in trigger and talks within cross, kid is not schala with her memory erased.  She is a clone.  Bethlasar made her in order to save serge from drowning.  The actual schala is fused with Lavos as the Time Devourer and I am pretty certain that she still has her memory at the time.  To say that Schala just had her memory erased and given the pendant as a reminder seems rather redudent to then say that she is also fused with Lavos at the time.

The problem here is that the plots of Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross are not compatible. Radical Dreamers is like Chrono Cross Version .0053 Alpha. Chrono Cross only uses the RD scenario at the beginning of the game. Things are completely different.

they made cc because they thought it would be a better idea than rd . like say that i was to have a baby and dropped it on its head. I would make sure i wouldn't drop my next baby. they basiclly expanded their creativity on making cc. and when i mean they i mean Square Enix. for those that don't what made cc, ct, or rd. Just in case!

...They made Chrono Cross because a sequel to Chrono Trigger was a sound business investment. Masato Kato simply used ideas from Radical Dreamers (probably because hardly anyone had played it, including North American fans who mostly would never even hear of it).

The reason why Kid has the pendant is because it's a protective item. Somehow Schala had the ability to create a clone of herself. Kid is that clone. Kid doesn't know who she is, and she never had any parents. The pendant protects her. Whenever she gets into some kind of trouble, she ends up fine and has no clue what happened because the pendant somehow like saves her and erases her memory of what happened.

Basically, Schala found out about Serge, who can use the Chrono Cross, which for whatever reason is required to free Schala from the Time Devourer. So she makes a clone of herself and sends the clone to the day when Serge almost drowned so that one day he could save Kid, find out about Schala and the Crono Cross, and save her.

If you're wondering why Kid has blonde hair while Schala doesn't... I don't remember where it originated from, but I've heard that in the Japanese version of Chrono Trigger, someone in Zeal mentions that the royal family uses blue hair dye or magic to make their hair blue.

Hello everyone, from the quote above, is what they say true, or is mistaken? Again, Schala & Kid are two different people to some extent, thus leaving Kid as a mere clone of Schala, correct? Til than, thank you & farewell.

The hair dye is a lie from Gamefaqs. I'd like to travel back in time and take a sledgehammer to the computers of the people who start these myths. Like the ones about the Prerelease, or the ones about the elaborate Chrono Cross Programmer's ending, or the Rainbow Frame, or Oddjob and Mayday from GoldenEye, or Chrono Break.
