Apostrophe issues
« on: November 24, 2006, 09:40:30 pm »
Trying to back up the Compendium, but any encyclopedia images like

Tata\'s_House

with an apostrophe refuse to download. I'm finding surprisingly little about this issue on the internet, which makes me think this is a problem with the Compendium's server. Anyone experienced with this?

I can already see that a bunch of people will reply to this with stuff like

oo wat a bad problem lolz well good luck :) :) :)

If you do, I'll kill you.

Edit: Looks like I'll have to download them manually from the encyclopedia, reupload them without the apostrophe, and change the names in the encyc to get it working, then log in to the Compendium's CPanel and manually delete all the apostrophe-laden copies. Sadly, Ramsus is the only one with access.

You see what happened with your post? (the \ to be exact) The server doesn't notice the file name with the \ in it.

And thus, with those last words, the man known as Glennleo was not even allowed to be born into this world. Zealty is very strict about some things and when he tells you not to fucking say something, he means it.

lol, jk man jk.

Yeah, it's the frontslash; it breaks the link to the file.

The only solution that I can think of is what you plan to do already. Manually download the files, rename them and upload them again.

Looks like I can delete them from the Wiki. Time to clean out the trash.
