Zeal in Chrono Break: Opinions
« on: June 28, 2007, 04:44:03 pm »
I know Zeal is wanted by a lot of fans to be present in the next Chrono game. However, my question is this: Would you settle for a completely new location that would be as majestic as Zeal?

Consider Zeal isn't present in the next game. Many fans will never shut up about it, yap yap GameFAQs yap yap yap,  and we'll hear a lot of complaints similar to what happened with Cross due to its lack of Trigger...ness.

But, consider how exciting it would be if a location full of unexpected new wonders appeared. Remember your first time visiting Zeal? I bet you were as dumbfounded as I was. "This place is so original." was what I thought. Now, I'd personally like that kind of feeling to be repeated once again. I hope we get to see - and visit - places like thatl again. The surprise of originality is overwhelming in comparison to re-visiting old areas, if you ask me.

So, your opinions?

I wouldn't what to see a whole lot a zeal in Chrono Break. I just have a small hunch that it would lose its uniqueness.

Aye. The whole point to sequels, in my eyes, is visiting new places and what have you. Sure, it's nice to visit places you've been to before in previous games, but only so much. Kingdom Hearts II, for example, over did it with its revists in my mind. We didn't need to go to Atlantica again, for instance(though the minigames were neat.)

As such, I am firmly against visiting Zeal or any other location previously seen that would not have major importance to the story. Now, if we pull a Back to the Future and see a scene from the original or Cross from a different perspective, that's another thing entirely.

I would like to see Zeal in next-gen or handheld. Personally, maybe the next Chrono could have an alternate dimension when Lavos didnt wake up in 12000 BC (Project ZEAL?), like how they did the Reptite Dimension?

Give me at least a floating city and some monsters to nuke, and im happy.

I definitely don't want to see Zeal in Chrono Break, except if it's in the form of some picture, flashback, or ruins to explore. Given Magus' non-involvement in CC, it's almost a given that he will be present or central in the plot of Chrono Break. Magus will thus be the Chrono Trigger "reminder", like Schala was in CC. And that's already a huge reminder, no need to have another huge stuff like Zeal. There must be room for new things. Rehashing is bad.
