Hope For The Chrono Series (but more likely more FFVII)
« on: April 24, 2007, 09:21:14 pm »
TEH NEWS

I just read this over at FFI and the sentence, "From here on in, Square will be focusing on remaking re-releasing old games and franchises, as well as creating new sequels to these games!" Just jumped out at me...

*finger's (Chrono) crossed*

I've got nothing from the link. Might want to copy the article and post it and/or reexamine the link for accuracy.

In any case, this is some nice news. There's no telling what might come out of this though...a few other franchises lurk in the background, not just Chrono.

Heard about this yet?

Is Square Enix revamping its business model to focus on remakes and ports of old games? No. But blogs from Joystiq to Destructoid are reporting this story today, despite the fact that it is one hundred percent false. Some stories are just too good to fact-check.

So one blog is contradicting another blog? There's a shocker.

Oh well...good thing I wasn't getting my hopes up.

It's false. Everybody knows Square Enix has sold all their non-FF series to Microsoft and Disney. Microsoft's Chrono Glance is due in 2008, Mushroom Kingdom Hearts in 2009, etc.

Well, not really: http://www.psu.com/node/9941

UPDATE: PlayStation Universe would like to apologise for the misinformation reported below. Whilst we always strive to provide you with the most reliable and important news, unfortunately we used an untruthworthy source for this article.

Square Enix has, in fact, not made any statement regarding the company's intentions of changing its business model and focusing on remakes and sequels. We sincerely apologize for any confusion of inconvenience, and please be assured that we will do our best to prevent errors like this. Also be aware that the journalist who reported this has been slapped multiple times - whilst this doesn't make everything better, it's quite satisfying!

This is old. I heard it on eurogamer, and then I heard it was a hoax.

Bloody spoof sites... hate 'em.

Yeah, I thought it was funny because after I read the article at FFI I read over at Square Insider that Square was going to be focusing on XII for quite a while...Whatever...I'll keep hope alive anyhow!

THE CHRONO SERIES WILL NEVER DIE!

Too bad there's only a small percent of people that actually know of the series still..
