What you say is totally true. I, for one, left it off wait for more a challenge. I felt if I had wait on, I would just massacre everything around me. Active made me think on my toes, and work 10x harder to keep my party alive.

But you are right. Having wait turned on definitely makes it fell like an old school FF.

FF9 is by far my favorite and in my opinion better than 7. the stroy did what chrono cross. you play through it then they tell you the story. but it has the best main character ever!!!

Though I love FFIX, even I must admit that Zidane is clearly one of the lamest characters it has to offer. He hardly gets any character development at all and what he does is basically a second-rate Locke...you only learn anything about him in the last 15 minutes of the game to boot. Play FFIX because Vivi rocks, not because of Zidane...Just try to look over Zidane like you would a silent protagonist.

Oh, and as far as bashing the FFXII battle system...I was only kidding, really. Since I've only got a demo to work on, I really have no valid opinion of the game yet.

Uh, no, I believe Square's made remakes of their older games for various cell phones...Wonderswan was a handheld system available in Japan (I don't remember if it was Japan only...but probably)...The cell phone games were probably only for Japanese cell phones too...I just thought to point it out...It might even be fun to add all the FFII/FFIV & FFIII/FFVI retardation...
