Edge's Top 100 Games of All Time.
« on: August 15, 2007, 04:30:48 pm »
Hey guys.

Edge magazine did a poll, or list, what have you, on the Top 100 Games of all time.

Here's a link to the list. Starting at 100.

Here's where Chrono Trigger fell.

54?!

I know most people haven't honestly played the game, but 54? Meh, I disagree with half the games on this list, so I guess 54 ain't bad considering the list is garbage.

What do you guys think?

Yeah, a lot of "bigshot" gaming companies tend to have poor taste in videogames.

EDIT: They're obviously just appealing to the masses by putting the most popularly played videogames in the list, as opposed to games that were actually good. Halo and Final Fantasy XII making the top 10? I can think of at least 100 games that should have been on this list before those.

Be glad. Humanity is already near the phail state. At least Chrono Trigger was on there...its a sign there is still time left.

Edit: I just actually looked at that list. LOL WTH? Nvm about still having time. There is none. Wow insta phail. Resident Evil was in the 90s? wth. FF12 near the top? Lawl. FFVII rapes it.

It is a shame, really, but a fine proof that they were just taking games and assembling them in a nonsense way is the catastrophic mistake of making ff12 highest than ff7. It seems like they did it some kind of retelling the history (past - present), may be that's why ct is so far away, of course considering an exception the games they wanted to place in some point of the list, so i think we can take it as a list of the "best" 100 games (some of them), but not necessary in a correct order of quality and importance.

Argg....the Secret of Monkey Island got freaking 79...that game was GREAT! And I can't even believe they dared to put Doom II at 78 when it sold millions more then the first one. But at least Half-Life 2 is at number 4.
