King Zeal is just a wonderful villian, not only for his bad assness or his arrogance or dreams, but merely for the fact that he's deep. A lot of video games and plots try to make the player/reader non sympathetic towards the villian, an example, Lavos, in CT he's the ultimate bad guy and he's destroyed the world. That's all we know about him, he's just an alien ruining the planet.
But in CT:CE the flame's little history lesson shows us Lavos had dreams and desires as well, that his race was like ours at one point. I like that about a villian. It makes them more real, and King Zeal though a villian, is probably one of my favorite characters, I kind of agreed with his view point. He wasn't crazy, (alright maybe a little) but he made sense, and he wasn't a mindless slave to the flame, there were moments when he had control, he was strong, and had desires and goals, he wasn't just a normal boss bad guy, and he was more intriguing than his wife, who had become a pawn to Lavos, he was making Lavos into the pawn!
Crimson Echoes made you see his side of the story, and the ending boy, i'd sure like to see him and Magus work together
King Zeal deffinately is a fantastic character.
