Crono redesign

I've been lurking here (and at the gamefaqs forums) for way too long, figured it was about time I'd contribute...
So I drew this in January 2006.  I tried for a slight redesign on Crono based on my dislike of Toriyama's art style (oh man, I'm gonna get flamed for this).  I'm not saying it sucks, or that it didn't work for the game, it's just my personal opinion, I'm not fond of the style.  Anyway, it's been a while and a half since this pic, and I'm thinking of making some redesigns of some more characters, so I'll probably be posting those here whenever I get those done.

Its cool representation of Crono, although he looks kinda confused?

The only problem with Toriyama's art is that many of his people start to look the same.

I definitely like this drawing of Crono.

He almost goes a little too emo for me, but it doesn't quite get there.

I really love the color scheme you used. I dunno what it is, but that green vest with a black shirt under it is pretty nice.

Thanks for the kind comments guys!  I'm hoping to get some more characters done sometime next week.  I'm thinking of tyring Marle next and maybe some CC characters for fun ^^

While I can understand the dislike for Toriyama's simple anime style...This pic just seems like another generic anime style that we've all seen before. BUT! I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all! I like this style AND Toriyama's stuff.

And...Is he wearing a zip-up vest?? >_> It's like he just walked off the set of shooting a GAP commercial. :P

Not GAP, but Old Navy, maybe, lawl.  I'm not sure what the hell he's wearing.  Could be a zipper.  My style's changed quite a bit since '06, it's way simpler now and more...  silly, I guess?  Less generic, I would say.  I was way more into mainstream (?) anime/manga then.  I don't know how to say it.  Either way, when I'm done the next one I'll get my girlfriend to scan it for me, and I'll throw it in here.
