Question about the Oekaki...
« on: June 30, 2008, 09:50:15 pm »
DO I need to download one of the programs to use it? Or can I just draw it on the site? After choosing the program, it says "Submit" and I'm not entirely sure if that would mean that I'm just taking up space with a blank white square or if it's bringing me to a Tegaki E esque page. Help?

It should just run in your browser as long as you have Java installed, and hitting submit stores the drawing on the server. You can edit it again after submitting it, but each time it resaves it as a JPEG, so there's a bit of noise added each time you open it, making it better just to finish it in one setting.

If no drawing applet is showing up, then try installing Java:

I'm pretty sure I have Java installed already. Should something show up before it takes me to the screen with the checkboxes? I'n getting the list of programs w/ the checkboxes and a preview image with a raccon in it. Should it have already taken me to the page?

Yeah. That page just lets you choose the applet you want to draw with, since there's 4 different drawing applets that behave differently. Hitting submit just takes you to the actual drawing applet, so don't be afraid to click it.
