Real time battle system in CT (hack idea)

I just wanted to throw an idea out there.Would it be possible to implement a real time battle system through a hack in CT(think secret of mana or seiken densetsu 3 battles; but add a block button)? I think that would be extremely interesting.I totally understand if no one accepts, because I realize how much work it would take, but I just wanted to see if anyone is interested

btw, I know NOTHING about programming, so I wouldnt be able to help

Possible?  Yes, obviously, though at that point it'd be easier to re-implement the rest of CT using one of those other games' engines - so it's technically a hack of SoM at that point.

Is anyone going to bother doing it?  Not likely. :D

I was thinking more along the lines of how tales does it(make contact with enemy, changes to a battle screen.Battle system would involve player controlled movement, attacks, defense and magic all in real time ).I dont know about programming, but perhaps this would be easier to implement, rather than how CT does it(no separate battle screen)?

It doesn't really matter whether it gets implemented with a separate battle screen (Tales/Star Ocean-style) or without (FF12-in-2D-style) - it'd still be easier to implement as a hack to a game whose battle system is already of this sort, than to try and move it into CT.

Battle systems are a pain to write. :D

Can you explain the battle system a bit? Is movement, attack, defend, magic all player controlled and real time? Would it be possible to implement your battle systemn into regular chrono trigger?

You could probably do that with CT.  Just remove the battle start with enemies and have them walk around, if you press Button A, They do this animation, if they get hit does this.  It'd probably be complicated to setup, but it'd be kinda interesting...Plus there's also the whole new ring menu hack that you'd have to do ~_~
