can someone help me play Radical Dreamers?
« on: August 02, 2008, 06:11:59 pm »
sorry if this doesn't belong here, I don't know where else to put it.

I'm posting this at the risk of breaking some taboo/rule/federal law (:O) but I'm trying to play radical dreamers on ZSNES but can't seem to get it to work.

I downloaded the Japanese ROM file but when I load it all I get is a black screen.

And if that problem ever gets resolved, could someone tell me how to patch a ROM file?  I played Pokemon Shiny Gold, and all I had to do there was rename the patch to be the same as the ROM I was playing.  Is it the same thing here, or is there a different method to patching ROMs I don't know about that I have to do with this one?  If there is, could someone tell me how?

It should be the same method of patching, since you're using ZSNES...but your other problem might be a headered/unheadered version of the ROM. If you have IPS or UPS (patching utilities), I think there are options to remove headers...otherwise, you might want to just look for another ROM...I'm sure someone could tell you the size of the unheadered file (I personally don't know it)...*shrugs*

well okay, after taking it step by step, I learned from an online tutorial that I needed unzipped files of the rom and patch.

So when I unzipped the patch provided by the compendium, I saw an executable.  Turns out after I used that, it not only made  rom playable, but turned it english.  Sorry for the trouble, but thanks for the help!
