What exactly does the word mean?
The meaning that I know seems to be different from the way it's used here...

Are you sure your meaning isn't for the simlarly spelled & sounding word "cannon"?

canon n. 1. body of church laws 2. any law 3. official list...some etc that don't matter...Basically when it's used here it's meaning what's officially a part of the/a series.

cannons are for pirates & defending castles and go boom like Ayla's head.

I think you mean the word used in this topic, for example?

When a Catholic saint is "canonized," it means that person officially fits into Masato Kato's Chronoverse.

Canon as it's used on the internet means the parts of series that actually happen on screen and are included into the overall story. Fanfiction and "silly, non-canon" parts aren't taken into account when considering the plot and such.

Marle being part frog, while it happens in an ending in CT, is not considered part of the Chrono Canon of what happens for certain.

Canonball. My new word for remakes the unshamefully cram in makeshift events in an attempt to connect two previous games in the series.
