I'm really behind again, but I'd like to welcome FaustWolf, Guru of Time emeritus and administrator, back to the Compendium after an historic stint in Obama's campaign. I suppose when Ohio was called tonight, FW was thinking, "yeah, what else is new?"

Holy cow, thanks for the grand welcome! Really, ZeaLitY, must you always do everything with grandiose pomp and circumstance? But I guess the answer would be...yes.   :lee:

Anyway, I'm glad I can be of some service here again. I have literally NOTHING to do over the next few months aside from applying for grad school, so I'll see what needs doing.

I was what they call a Field Organizer -- basically one of the persons charged with recruiting volunteers for the Obama Campaign and directing their activity within a targeted area.

Somehow I put 5000 miles on my car in the process, though some of that may have had to do with trailing Joe Biden's motorcade through a significant portion of Ohio one day. That's what I get for being the only organizer on hand with a Garmin -- I was assigned the task of transporting an AP photographer. That was really fun, actually.

But field work isn't for the faint of heart -- you basically need to devote every bit of your life to your candidate for four months. Survival necessitated developing an ardent, ardent love for Barack Obama.

Great job!! You probably helped with the new presidency a Signifigant amount. Obama is awesome, and even if some people don't like him, they have to admit he'll do better than that Monkey we have at the head of our country now. And he'll definitely do better than that freaking creepy Sarah Palin, ugh. I also think Mcain is happier that he's NOT president, but I digress. Like I said, you probably made a indentation on how many people voted for Obama, thus affecting the outcome.
