I bought season 1 of Battlestar Galactica for a gift but when he arived early I quickly shoved it in the microwave to hid it. Later someone started it on accident after I forgot to pull it out and...and....*sob*

Well...if you take a light bulb and stick the bottom metal screw part into a glass of water, then put it in the microwave and turn it on, both the argon gas inside the bulb and the filament in the bulb will glow brightly. The excited gas looks particularly cool. The water serves as a sink for the microwaves since the microwave oven is tuned to the resonant absorbing frequency of water. If you leave it there too long though, the expanding gas inside the bulb will cause it to explode. Which is cool, but highly dangerous. Don't try this at home kids!

Notice how all the really, really cool things in life come with "don't try this at home" warnings?  :D

A smaller microwave.

A single popcorn kernel on a plate that you don't care to lose.  Extra points, for holding the plate in your bare hand afterwards for longer than a second if it doesn't shatter.

A moth, so long as PETA doesn't see you do it.

Oh, man, don't ever, ever put a jawbreaker into the microwave folks. I did that when I was like 10 with some kind of huge jawbreaker candy thing (I was trying to soften it up, you see), and it took the rest of the day to clean up the microwave after the darn thing exploded.

Lit candles, or anything else that's already on fire.
A computer.
Your dog. Read a news article once that a woman put her dog in the microwave to dry it off after a bath. Baaad idea.

Those baseball sized jawbreakers?  You can't find those anywhere anymore.  :(

Side, note...  Things not to put in a microwave.

I heard once on GamePolitics about how two kids microwaved a kitten. Video games were blamed.

Yeah, it was a baseball-sized jawbreaker. I should have just kept it as a souvenir or something.

What the hell game is played where you put kittens in a microwave?

Pants, fresh out of the wash. Bad idea.
Cereal, preferably fruit loops.
Hot Chocolate. Get it? It's already hot. [/dumb joke]
A sandwich. *tries to forget the texture whilst crying profusely in a corner*
Money. Any idiot who does this does not deserve forgiveness.

No effing way. What a stupid thread (look, I even resorted to using the friggin picard facepalm that I detest beyond reasoning). It itself should be put in a microwave. I mean, what? Just a bunch of posts with people listing stupid crap? C'mon. You can do better than this Compendiumers. I personally won't abide by such junky, spammy game threads. If another admin disagrees and wants to play, the can go ahead & revoke it, but for now, I've gotta give this a...
