cronos death
« on: February 28, 2009, 08:05:36 am »
i've played only CT on the SNES version and i started watching the anime cutscenes for the DS versions on youtube. Theres the scene where crono first dies to Lavos, i always thought he did some awesome luminare sacrfice thing like in the game but the anime scene depicts his orb of mojo being sucked out by lavos instead. So what actually happens? And does that ball of light play any significance i nthe DS version?

And has anyone noticed that the scenes look remarkably similar to dragon ball? (forgive me for pointing out the obvious)

on a funny note on this scene though is where lavos powers up his light beam attack and crono braces for it, and when eveloped in the light his facial expression is like 'wtf?'

gota have a laugh.

It looks like Lavos sucks the heck out of him.

I thought the glowing orb was supposed to be the Pendant.

TOEI (Toriyama underlings) did the anime scenes.

that's the pendant leaving his body.  The shiny orb I'm pretty sure is depicted that way in the ingame sprites.  That particular scene was probably the most disappointing to me in its cinematic adaptation.  I got the impression from the SNES sprites that part of why Chrono what obliterated was that he was resisting the power drain (what lavos used on Magus)  what with all the spark things around him and Frog all "Chrono desist)  but we don't get that in the PS/DS version and that bums me out.  Not nearly as dramatic a death imo

I think we just think that, but on an average leveling playthrough, I don't think he would even have Luminaire by then...So it just looks that way because of the sprites...It could be either way though, I'm sure...

Well when ever I play with out grinding, speed runs and such, I always get Luminaire in the Ocean Palace.
