The Lost Island
« on: March 07, 2009, 02:35:01 am »
Anyone here watch a tv series called Lost? Anyone that has and is up to date with the current season would know that alot of time travelling is involved. Ive noticed alot of themes are similar to Chrono Trigger, like Black Rock, the obvious time travel, underwaternism, magic etc. How awesome would it be if the writters explain 'The Island' is one of the floating land masses of the Zeal Kingdom which held Belthasars laboratory and survived the fall of zeal by landing in the ocean...and that wheel thingo that makes people go through time could be part of his prototype epoch! hahah

Somehow I doubt they could get the copyright clearance to do that.  While many Chrono fans would shit their pants in awe of the series taking a turn that way, most people would be scratching their heads at the mention of Zeal saying "WTF are they doing with this now?"

Hahaha...

I love Lost and I see your logic, but yeah, that would be wild...

However, Hiro from Heroes actually has mentioned Chrono Trigger quite a few times both in his blog and once or twice on air.  After all, he is a hero with the power to bend space-time (in turn teleportation and time travel).

Yeah, but his character is a gamer. I don't think that's the case of anyone on Lost.

Which is the only show I make it a point to watch. This season has been fantastic.

Are you saying this season of Lost or Heroes has been fantastic?

Lost. I gave up on Heroes last year.

Yeah, I'm struggling with Heroes... I can't stand to watch, yet I can't stand to let go.  Season One was one of the best overall seasons in television history, if you ask me.  Two started off well, but by the end of it... Dang.  And it's been gradually down hill from there.

As for Lost... Season One still has to be my favorite, followed closely by Season Four.  Gotta love my Daniel Faraday.  This season is just... odd to me.  I enjoy it and have no complaints, it's just so... different.

Oh, and I might add that the Sawyer/Juliet pairing is sort of awkward.

I never got into Lost...but about the similar themes to CT, well...Chrono Trigger was a game built on a house of cliche...it's not really surprising to see similar story or plot-points in other medium...

And, yeah, Heroes has been really up & down since the second season...I blame the strike for mussing everything up, but it's taking them too long to clear up the mess for my liking...It had better start getting better soon...Though I'd probably still watch it based solely on my own dork-factor (5)...>_>

I'm frustrated that we have to wait another week for a new episode. I thought the later season start date was to avoid breaks.

Yeah, the extra week between the last episode and this one is a pain...  We will just wait and see.  I hope they don't remain stuck in the 70's though, because in all honesty, I don't know how much Dharma Initiative I can take.  That's why I liked the fourth season so much -- it got away from the DI and the hatches and focused more on the island itself, which for me, is the bigger mystery (and more fun).

I like all the history, both of the DI, and the Island itself. It was such a great moment last episode where they show us a glimpse of the statue. It'll be interesting to see how that all plays out. That, and Alpert. He's fascinating. I wonder if the colossus is a statue of Alpert?
