I always try to keep my projects on the down low, so only the people involved know about them, since that way I can work out as many flaws as possible before revealing them to my target audience. It makes for better marketing too, since I can just say "look here" instead of "listen, I got this thing I'm working on..."
The only exception is projects I can finish in under a week.
Not really advice, but just something to ponder over sometime when you've got nothing to do.
And even if your art isn't great, animation needs a lot of "in-between" scenes that you should try to help out with. If you can draw what you see, you should be able to draw what goes between what you see.
