Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross questions.

Hey guys,
First off I would like to say I am brand new to this forum and unaware of what has been previously posted and where I could find the answers to my discussion/questions. So If I offend anyone or anything that would make someone mad.....Sorry. Haha.

Now, I have read the wiki's on both games and played both games back in the day,lol.

Chrono Cross
-This is the game I have the most questions on. It was a great game but a little confusing. I havent played these games in years. So my memory is very vague. I tried looking the videos on youtube but was kind of confused.
Ok so you kill the dragon and you use the Chrono Cross element right? Sooo...then what happens? I have seen videos where Serge died?
