Fabrication, or the death knell?

Apparently one of those sad, sad people trying to revive CTR e-mailed SE, and got this response from http://www.xsorbit2.com/users/chronotrigger/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&num=1109335852&start=30 .

We appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the title, Chrono Trigger Resurrection.  The decision to produce this title was one made by our parent Company Square Enix CO., LTD.   We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Produce this title? I'm hoping that's a typo by a Square lackey. If CTR is getting made, it'll be the next worst thing to ever happen to the Chrono series. It will spell its end, as they'll simply be throwing us a bone and probably canning any future possibility of sequel.

However, honestly, this can't be real. SE wouldn't do something blatantly idiotic and totally backwards like deciding to make CTR. It's the same damn game, but in 3D. Halfway into it I'd probably get bored of reading all the same crap over again and having to navigate the same Black Omen, even if it has dynamic lighting. So yeah, 0.0001% this is true, but an interesting ponderance nonetheless.

I should think that it was indeed a typo. Whoever replied to the letter, I'm certain, would not be high enough on the ladder to know if such a game were in production, especially not one that would be kept so secret as a Chrono game.

Honestly, though, I looked at the forums, and I can see perfectly why you used the term 'sad people.' Good lord, the person who sent the email was fortunate they even replied! There was almost no punctuation, and the grammar was atrocious. You and I spell better in a mere forum post, and even my little 12 year-old sister can write much better than that.

And when someone thought it good to mention this to him, the guy went on a long tirade and ad hominem argument about how the one who isn't trying to revive this thing should 'get a life' - of all the irony! He claims he's 23, but he acts less mature than my littlest sister. And worst of all: he says he was in the army, and is studying in college to become a teacher! People, the world has taken a serious turn I think if this is the future shape of education.

But anyway, this bloody fanboyism and failure to see reality is truly giving Chrono Fans a bad name. I think the Compendium is the best Chrono thing that will be around for a long time to come.

I though remaking the game would be a good idea, why would you get bored when you passed it 7 time to try each ending?

Yes! I will endeavor to maintain high standards, awareness of ongoings in the Chrono community, and tasteful conducting of analysis, debate, and discussion.

Yeah, looks like they just forgot to make it "Not To Produce"
