Symphonic Fantasies

Ok, I didn't know where I could post this, so I choosed this section...

One year ago, there was a concert in Cologne, Germany, in which the WDR Rundfunkorchester performed some songs of Square Enix titles, like Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy and - clearly! - Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross. The concert was called "Symphonic Fantasies" and was a big success. Twenty minutes of standing ovations!

Now, one year later, the WDR has published a CD, which contains the titles, which were played in the last concert.

Thanks for the tip Fausty! Never thought I'd be able to call another member that. 

It's invigorating to see hundreds of people packed into an auditorium just to listen to videogame music as if it were a Cirque du Soleil performance.

Isn't a little Faust in all of us? 

Exciting, yes. They gave also some encores, which are not included, because the CD was made later. Without the desire of a large fanbase, they wouldn't have made it. Regarding the success of the last year, they organise another concert in this september, featuring other game music.

In the forefield of this, they published the music of the last concert one week ago.

Music to my ears!

Damn, this is beautiful. I must say I was really hoping for a Frozen Flame or Dragon God piece, but when I heard Those Imprisoned By Fate that thought was blown out of the water. I get a gut-wrenching feeling every time I hear that tune, and it feels great. And then I couldn't stop smiling when Frog's Theme came; I even laughed and whistled along! It's wonderful that I am moved by such beautiful music. And those musicians seem so perfectly in tune with their instruments, it's inspiring...

Ah, I really must listen to the rest of the orchestra and buy the CD now!
